Well played the team in our match vs Blackmore Vale this morning at RiversMeet in Gillingham. Final score 10-8. We waited until the last game, leaving Charlie and Susie (thanks Sue🙂) to clinch the winner. Thanks to Ashley, Maggie, Paul & Mike H for their support - couldn't have done it without you. Special shout out to Mike W and Ali for their considerable help in getting our shirts up and running so quickly. Thanks must also go to the BV team who were very welcoming and played the games in a very sporting manner. Looking forward to the return.🏸🏸

9 members of our club took the opportunity to travel to Birmingham to watch a day of badminton at the Yonex All England Championship.
What a fantastic time we had.

Good Morning, All

I have been in touch with Sturfit this morning. Despite me using my sweetest honeyed tones, they are adamant that we will have to revert to a 7.30am start when the new school term begins. This is a reminder, then, that the session on Thurs 31st August will be our last with an 8am start, and that from the session on Mon 4th Sept it will be back to 7.30am. Aaargh !

Hi everyone

Club attendance has picked up a bit lately. I wondered if it was time for another blind pairs competition🎉🏸

I would like to organise it for this coming Monday 31st July.
If there are at least 8 people it will be worth doing but more would be better. Let’s see how it goes🙂

I would liked to have given you more notice and played it next Thursday but I can’t as I start work early that day 😕

Barbecue attendance is looking good as well.

Good day all,

I have contacted Sturfit regarding the possibility of our reverting to 8am starts for the duration of the school summer holidays, as we have done in recent years. They have agreed to this, and our more civilised start time comes into effect from this Thursday’s session (27th July), and will continue up to and including the session on Thursday 31st August. Enjoy the extra half-hour sleep-in!

Quick reminder that as the three Bank Holidays in May - 1st, 8th & 29th are all Mondays the club
start time at Sturfit will be 8am. A well deserved lay in for everyone 🛌🛌
