💙 U10s Wonderball 💙

Today we travelled to Leamington Khalsa, one of the prettiest grounds we have travelled too in a while, with a cute cafe on site.

Leamington Khalsa won the toss and chose to bat first.

First ball of the game from RF was a wicket, leading into that over being a wicket maiden. ES followed suit with a wicket maiden.

We were off to a flying start and preventing the runs with a tight field.

Next bowling pair saw 2 wickets for JW and 1 for BA-D.
With minimal runs conceded and wickets for both EB and NR, saw Leamington end on 255.

One of our finest bowling and fielding displays so far.

A brief team talk where the focus was on not losing their wickets.

Opening pair of RF and ES saw them get a partnership of 40. Their little legs ran everything and even hit some good boundaries. RF ending as our highest scorer on 20.

Next pair in didnt face many hittable balls but they ones they did were boundaries. The hard work is paying off.

Up stepped our superstar 4year old JS with EB.
A couple of wickets but boy did they run well, EB hitting some boundaries too.

Our final pair saw 2 of our physically strongest batters in ZT and NR and boy did they do well.
They manage to smash 4s off wides and no balls with brilliant feet movement.

We ended on 320, our highest score this season!

Player of the match went to NR, not only did he bowl, bat and field well but he also stepped in to help Leamington who were a player short and even stopped a boundary for Studley. He also showed that he has been training at home outside of junior training and that the tips Coach Mark has been sending parents he is working on

💙 Under 13’s 💙

Another day on the road for the 13’s as we headed to quaint village ground of Norton Lindsey Cricket 😍

Captain NT won a toss finally and put the opposition in. Great to see the opposition fielding girls in their team and I can honestly say they were fantastic! Batting (and bowling) they got their team off to a solid start.
Studley were slow out the blocks, lacked a little enthusiasm but luckily on came the Billing brother & Sister duo to spark us into life. A great spell with 5 wickets and team run out between them bought us energy and spirit. Joint players of the match massively deserved for both.

We kept the runs down and took regular wickets but too many extras again for coach Gaz’s liking. Hopefully we were going to be on it to chase the moderate total.

We were on it! We welcomed JC back from injury and his power showed! The billings duo were solid and then 3rd pair NT and ER set the standards batting. Exceptional running, turning 1 into 2 and even running a 4 (without over throws) showing us that running hard makes a difference!

A professional performance in the end and we go marching on. A few weeks off now to practice hard and give our travelling fans a few weeks off 🥳

💙 U11s 💙

Today we welcomed Norton Lindsey to Studley CC.

Captain LR won the toss and elected to bat 🏏
LR and TH got us off to a fantastic start with a strong opening partnership, setting the tone for the innings.

DF and SH then took things to another level, putting on over 50 runs as a pair with some outstanding stroke play, finding all parts of the ground with confidence and power.

JH and JW continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over with another solid partnership before LG and PG finished the innings brilliantly.

LG batted superbly, helping Studley post an imposing total of 335.

With the ball, DF and SH opened up with excellent discipline and control, preventing Norton Lindsey’s first pair from getting away.
DF was rewarded with two wickets for his efforts.

PG then produced a superb spell of bowling, also claiming two wickets.

JW and JH both bowled exceptionally well and were unlucky not to pick up wickets, while LR added another two wickets with a strong spell.

The highlight of the day came in the final pairing. In only his fourth game for Studley, TH produced something truly special by taking a hat trick. An incredible achievement and a moment he’ll never forget!

The fielding was equally impressive, with Studley recording an outstanding nine run outs, six of which were direct hits. SH and PG led the way with two direct hit run outs each.

Another excellent all round team performance and another comprehensive victory as Studley continue their fantastic run of form.

What a fantastic first Ladies Softball Cricket training session tonight! 🏏✨ Thanks to Jess

A huge success, with plenty of laughs, learning, and teamwork. Being mums meant we had some brilliant little coaches on hand too — the kids were more than happy to show us how it's done! 😄

A massive thank you to all the coaches for your support, patience, and encouragement. We can't wait for the next session! 💙

Finally the moment that all the coaching, the drilling into them, the constant reminders and lectures have paid off for this team! Their moment was due and today it arrived.

Captain LW got us bowling against a very good Dorridge side. Every bowler contributed, every fielder had their moment, diving stops, smart fielding positions all contributed to restricting them. Wickets a piece for LW, TM and yet another run out for ER from cover kept them at bay from scoring big.
HB the new off spin sensation with fantastic figures of 2 overs for 3 runs and ER with 3 overs for just 5 runs were catalysts in stopping that run rate. Even the big 5.5 shoe of AB contributing to the fine efforts!

Batting notorious for being our Achilles heal but not today! Maturity, concentration, picking singles and hitting boundaries. Ch retiring on 30 and exceptional contributions from LW 15, AT 21* and LL 11* saw us home to a great victory with overs to spare.

Today is our day, we celebrated well, we cried, we laughed and we were all so proud of each other. Even those not batting or bowling less all shared in the joy, a real team effort and a really good spirit from all. Today was our kids showing us what they can do.

💙 Under 13’s 💙

Yet another away game for the 13’s but we clearly like being on the road. A shortish journey to the beautiful (one of my fave little grounds)

Losing the toss we were put in early. The message from the coach each week… ‘No run outs accepted’ what happens 2nd ball… LW run out! Thankfully it was a minor blip and LW played his best innings yet imo with a flurry of boundaries, 2 exceptional cover drives got us going.

Nothing else spectacular but a constant ticking over, a few boundaries but too many wickets lost (including another run out 😠)

A total of 280 was set so the chat in the changing room turned to restricting the extras! And that we did! Probably the most disciplined all round performance, complimented at the end by the away coach.

Lapworth did get off to a flyer with a fantastic display of hitting from the left handed opener, it really looked game on! Thankfully we took regular wickets, including a first ever hardball run out for LB (Yes girl ✌🏻) which was a particular highlight.

Today was also a proud day, the way our team showed respect, sportsmanship and admiration for the opposition who also fielded a female cricketer and an incredibly inspiring young man with a disability. Truly wonderful to see and our players were in total awe.

Player of the match went to LW. A fine innings and 2 maidens bowled, it doesn’t get much better than that.

💙 U11s 💙

Today we welcomed Lapworth, with Studley being put into bat first on a very green pitch that looked ideal for the bowlers.

Despite the conditions, the batting performance was outstanding from start to finish. The team showed great confidence, excellent calling between the wickets and some superb shot selection. The bad balls were punished while the good deliveries were respected, resulting in a fantastic all round batting display.

JW and TM top scored for Studley, both playing some excellent attacking cricket. They team played every ball with confidence and found the boundary regularly with a series of superb fours.

The strong batting effort saw Studley race to an impressive total of 328.

Knowing it was a big score, the team challenged themselves during the break to bowl with discipline, keep wides below five and take more than five wickets. The boys and girls responded brilliantly.

Across 16 overs, Studley bowled just one wide, an incredible achievement at this level. Every bowling pair performed superbly, giving the opposition very little to hit and maintaining pressure throughout the innings. The wickets came regularly and the fielding backed up the bowlers perfectly.

Cricket was played in a fantastic spirit by both teams, and it was another excellent team performance from everyone involved.

A brilliant win for the Studley U11s, making it three victories on the bounce and continuing a fantastic run of form. Well done everyone! 👏🏏💙
