We're very pleased to officially announce the 2027 Cotswold Soaring Championships hosted here at Aston Down from 7-15th August 2027. Get the date in your calendars now and prepare for more racing at one of the most popular regionals on the competition circuit. We can't wait to welcome you back!

The Soaring Championships will be an 8-day competition, starting on 7th with the 15th as a reserve day if required. It may be more than a year away, but the entry form is open now!

We're pleased, after four flying days, to announce the results for our three classes and thus crown the champions of the UK 18m & 20m Multi-Seat Nationals and our very own Cotswold Regionals pilots. Congratulations to everyone and we're thankful for your continuing support here at Aston Down and the Cotswold Gliding Club.

18m Nationals
1st: Phil Jones (Ventus 3) - 2905 points
2nd: Matt Davis (JS1) - 2813 points

20m Multi-Seat Nationals

Some results here briefly from Day 9 of the competition, the fourth competition day overall. A very fast day for the 18m class, topping out at more than 120kph for the top three competitors. The 20m Multi-Seat class also getting a better day than yesterday with speeds faster than 100kph. Overall results to follow very shortly.

18m Nationals
1st: Derren Francis (Ventus 3) - 127.04kph - 456 points

Day 8 yielded two very different days for our classes. The 18m class got a decent number of points but the Regionals and 20m not being so fortunate. We'll be back later with any further day results later on (providing we fly) and the overall results too.

18m Nationals

The sun has risen on the final day of the UK 18m & 20m Multi-Seat National and Cotswold Regionals. We were treated to an incredible display of noctilucent cloud to the north shortly before midnight last night. Yesterday was a scoring day in all three classes again (although only just in the 20m). We'll release the preliminary scores a little later on with the official results released this evening too. I just want to say thank you to all our competitors, crew and volunteers for their patience through a difficult and hot week.

We're now onto the penultimate day of the UK 18m & 20m Multi-Seat Nationals and Cotswold Regionals. After three days of temperatures reaching 30 or more, today is forecast to be a few degrees cooler with tomorrow looking even cooler still - a well needed respite from the heat.

Thank you once again for your patience today. The conditions have once again not proved to be right and thus we have scrubbed day 7 of the competition. Hopefully we can get some soarable weather over the weekend.
