Have you heard of NEAT before? 👀

NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) is all the movement you do outside of planned exercise… and it’s something we often overlook.

Walking to the shops, carrying the washing upstairs, gardening, playing with the children or taking the stairs... it all contributes to your overall movement throughout the day.

It’s a really helpful reminder that movement isn’t just about the workout you squeezed in (or didn’t).

Of course, everyday movement doesn’t replace the unique benefits of strength training, Pilates or other purposeful exercises, but it does remind us that looking after our health isn’t all or nothing.

So next time you catch yourself thinking, “I haven’t done enough today,” take a moment to recognise all the ways you’ve already moved. 🤍

👇 Had you heard of NEAT before, or is this a new one for you?

September has a way of making us feel like we need to start over.

A new routine.
A fresh plan.
A complete reset.

But the best routines aren’t built by doing everything at once.

They’re built by starting somewhere... and coming back to it consistently.

That’s exactly why I’ve created the ‘New to SheMoves? Start Here’ movement pathway.

Whether you’re brand new, returning after a summer break or simply wondering where to begin, this pathway takes away the guesswork and helps you build confidence one class at a time.

No pressure.
No trying to catch up.
No feeling behind.
Just a simple place to start.

Because one class today is always better than waiting for the “perfect” Monday. 🤍

Already a member? Head to the on-demand library and look out for the ‘New to SheMoves? Start Here’ pathway.

Can we stop saying “I need to get back on track”?

Because chances are, you were never really off track.

You went on holiday.

You celebrated.

You rested.

You had a busy week.

Life happened.

Movement and looking after yourself shouldn’t only count when everything is perfectly planned.

The goal isn’t to be “on track” every single day.

It’s to build habits that are flexible enough to fit around real life, knowing you can simply pick them back up again without guilt or feeling like you’ve failed.

That’s one of the things I love most about SheMoves. There are no rigid plans to catch up on and no pressure to be perfect.

Just support that’s there whenever you’re ready to come back to it. 🤍

If your mind feels busy at bedtime or you’re feeling a little anxious, these are two simple techniques you can try in under two minutes.

Sometimes, taking a moment to slow down and give your body a sense of safety is all it needs to begin settling.

They’re quick, gentle and easy to come back to whenever you need them.

Save this for the evenings you need it most. 🤍
If you liked this… these are also the kinds of practices we explore in the Nervous System Regulation section of SheMoves, alongside movement designed to help you feel calmer, more connected and supported.

Don’t let your pelvic floor hold you back this summer ☀️

Whether it’s long walks, playing with the kids or grandchildren, days at the beach, travelling, gardening or simply feeling more confident moving your body, your pelvic health matters.

This reel is a little sneak peek into my **15-minute Pelvic Safe Pilates** class, designed to help you move with confidence whilst supporting your pelvic floor.

The best part? You can try it for yourself completely free.

Simply complete my **Movement Personality Quiz** (linked in my bio) and you’ll unlock the class.

And if you’re already a SheMoves member, you’ll find it in the on-demand library alongside a range of pelvic health sessions, including pelvic floor release for when things feel tight, plus strength-focused classes to help you build confidence over time.

Here’s to a summer of moving well and feeling your best. ☀️

One of my favourite snacks at the moment…

I love that it’s made from simple store cupboard ingredients, takes 10 minutes and is packed with benefits that go beyond protein.

Why chickpeas are worth adding into your week:

•A great source of plant-based protein
•Rich in fibre to support gut health and digestion
•Help support steadier blood sugar levels
•Support immune health
•Can even support hormone health through the gut-hormone connection

One thing I find particularly interesting is that healthy gut bacteria help break down and clear excess oestrogen, whilst fibre helps slow glucose spikes - supporting steadier energy and calmer hormonal signalling.

Current obsession? Air fryer chickpeas 🔥

How I make them:

Drain and rinse chickpeas (I use Queen Chickpeas)

🫒 Drizzle with olive oil

🧂 Add:

• 1 tsp cumin

• 1 tsp smoked paprika

• ½ tsp garlic granules

• Pinch of sea salt

Optional: chilli flakes or a teaspoon of sumac.

🔥 Air fry for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through.

Shorter = perfect sprinkled onto meals.

Longer = crunchy snack perfection.

A simple little staple that’s firmly on repeat in my house at the moment

Save for later and give it a try. If you’re a SheMoves member – check out my protein cheat sheet inside the summer challenge for more ideas!

Have you tried any of the ideas & recipes? I’d love to know.

Save this for your next flight ✈️

Whether you’re heading off on holiday or preparing for a long journey, sitting for long periods can often leave us feeling stiff, achy and sluggish.

These 3 simple seated exercises are great to do on the plane (or during any long journey) to help:

✈️ Ease stiffness

✈️ Encourage circulation

✈️ Keep your body moving

✈️ Help you feel more comfortable when travelling

The good news? You don’t need lots of space, equipment or a full workout.

Just a few minutes of movement here and there can make a big difference.

A little reminder that movement doesn’t have to stop just because you’re travelling.

Save this for your next trip, especially if you’ve got a long-haul flight coming up. 🧳

If you like this kind of thing, I have a whole seated Pilates session inside the SheMoves class library.
