The Problem
Far too many primary school aged children do not have a basic level of fine and gross motor skills. This impacts their development in sports and physical activity, whilst also affecting their academic performance in the classroom. Ultimately, a child who can take part and succeed in physical games and play, is the child that has takes greater enjoyment from a task, develops better comm
unication, organisation skills and has a wider social circle. The Reason
Many Primary schools do not have sufficient resources, equipment, and expertise to deliver an engaging, stimulating curriculum that targets the key fundamental movement skills that are vital for a child to develop, and therefore enjoy taking part in play, sport, and exercise. In addition, many parents are too busy to engage in play with their children; or do not have suitable knowledge or a good enough understanding of how to help stimulate learning during leisure and recreational activities, such as playing tennis, throwing a frisbee or riding a bike. The Solution
The Catch Academy delivers age appropriate hand-eye coordination and movement activities to children of all ages from 18 month old starter, to 18 year old advanced cricketer. Repetition of fun, stimulating, engaging games, challenges and technical workouts will give the children a good understanding of technique and teaching points, but the child will engage with the challenges and want to practise harder and reach a certain goal.
