PNW Regional Singles

On Sunday 30th May, Rochdale Pétanque hosted the PNW Regional Singles event. It was a beautiful day for pétanque, with scorching sunshine providing perfect conditions for a fantastic day of competition.

A total of 21 players entered, battling through the morning qualifiers before being split into Gold, Silver, and Bronze groups. The afternoon then saw the group play-offs take place, with players competing hard to secure the top spots in their respective sections.

After some excellent matches throughout the day, the winners were:

Gold
1st Place – Paul Fairbrother
2nd Place – Mike McNicholas
3rd Place – Neil H

Silver Winner – Brynn

Bronze Winner – Dave Hall

Congratulations to all of the winners, and well done to everyone who took part and made it such an enjoyable and competitive event.

A big thank you to Mike for organising and running the day so smoothly.

Congratulations to Trafford Petanque’s Dan, Jack and Kevin, Rochdale Pétanque’s Mike and Pétanque North West’s Lori and Sabrina for their fine results down at the Nationals this weekend. Great to see for us as a club and as a regionals.

We at Trafford Petanque are of course proud of the Trafford teams that qualified to represent Pétanque North West in this year’s Inter Regionals at Weston-Super-Mare in September, especially Dan, Jack and Kevin’s victory in today’s second qualifying event.

But most of all we’re delighted by the camaraderie, good nature and respect between us and our PNW teammates Rochdale Pétanque. There are a lot of people really looking forward to September.

Thanks to Mike for organising and to Neil for his hosting prowess and umpiring when called upon.

Well done to Trafford Petanque’s Dan, Jack & Kevin, who reached the final of the silver section of today’s SSE Triples before succumbing to Dave Plumhoff, Nick Baxter, Sofiane Lachani and Mokhtar Benerab in the final. Congratulations to the winners.

Good luck to Dean, Jason, Roly and Kai, who earned the right to represent England in Thailand later this year.
