A great effort from the Somerset Women’s O65 team in their match against Berkshire yesterday 💪
Captain Vicky Flicker shared this update:
Anne Bazely and Sarah Allen, playing as the first pair, delivered a strong performance. They battled hard to secure a win against Berkshire’s first pair (6–7, 6–1, 1–0), but were narrowly defeated by the second pair (3–6, 6–1, 0–1).
The new partnership of Jenny Fitzpatrick and Carol Stockman showed real promise in their debut together. They were involved in a closely contested match against Berkshire’s second pair, just missing out (4–6, 5–7), and also faced a tough challenge against the first pair (1–6, 2–6).
Overall result: 1–3
