Victoria Lawn Tennis Club - Street We have two Astro Turf & Two Hard Courts. Victoria Lawn Tennis Club, in Street, Somerset, welcomes players of all ages and abilities.

We have two new Astro Turf Courts and two hard courts which have been recently painted and refreshed. There are floodlights on all four courts, allowing for year round play. We have good court availability, with free play, no booking required, at all times except club sessions. For main club sessions see the Playing page. As well as our own Tennis Pavilion next to the courts, with kitchen and toilets, we enjoy all the facilities of the Victoria Social Club, with spacious changing rooms and showers, a well -stocked bar, two lounge areas, pool table, skittle alley and function hall. The club is friendly and inclusive with plenty of opportunity to socialise. Social events include club tournaments, quiz nights and a Christmas get together. Members are able to opt in for Wimbledon tickets via the Lawn Tennis Association, with an annual draw for club members. As well as social and club tennis we compete in county summer and winter leagues with great success, running Men’s teams (A, B, C and D), Women’s Teams (A and B), Mixed doubles and Vet’s teams. We are lucky to have an outstanding professional coach, John Cooksley, who is available throughout the year for individual and group coaching for both juniors and seniors. A great effort from the Somerset Women’s O65 team in their match against Berkshire yesterday 💪

Captain Vicky Flicker shared this update:

Anne Bazely and Sarah Allen, playing as the first pair, delivered a strong performance. They battled hard to secure a win against Berkshire’s first pair (6–7, 6–1, 1–0), but were narrowly defeated by the second pair (3–6, 6–1, 0–1).

The new partnership of Jenny Fitzpatrick and Carol Stockman showed real promise in their debut together. They were involved in a closely contested match against Berkshire’s second pair, just missing out (4–6, 5–7), and also faced a tough challenge against the first pair (1–6, 2–6).

Overall result: 1–3
