This Week's Theme of the Week is Strong Cores!

Maintaining balance in a fluid environment requires constant tiny adjustments from the abdominal and back muscles. A strong core becomes the anchor for everything else: sitting up, crawling and eventually walking.

From those early stages of lifting their head and tummy time, through to pulling up and standing... those strong cores help develop better posture, gross motor skills, balance and coordination.

As our Baby Squids grow into toddlers and preschoolers, that core strength becomes even more important. It helps them stay stable in the water, maintain body position, kick efficiently and build the confidence they need as they start swimming more independently and eventually unaided.

See you in the pool

This Week's Theme of the Week is Love!

You may have heard of the love hormone also known as oxytocin.

Oxytocin is released when hugging, touching or kissing and has some amazing benefits:
🩷 Strengths the immune system
💙 Supports emotional health
🩷 Reduces anxiety
💙 Improves bonding and trust
🩷 Promotes growth and healing

We're looking forward to a week of bonding, hugging and sharing the love 💕

This Week's Theme of the Week is Kicking!

Kicking is a huge step and developmental milestone. Here's why those little kicks are a big deal:

Building Core - Kicking strengthens the abdominal and leg muscles, which babies need to crawl and walk

Brain Power - As toddlers learn to alternate their kicks, they use both sides of their brains. This is vital for neurological development and coordination

Cause & Effect - "I kick my legs, I move forward" this helps their cognitive understanding of how their body interacts with the world

Sensory Feedback - the feeling of water rushing past their legs and feet helps them develop proprioception (the sense of where their body is in space)
