To sum up my running year in 2025: What a blast! I achieved far more than I ever thought I was capable of, and honestly surprised myself along the way.
I took part in 15 races over the year — two of them masquerading as other people — what a laugh 🤭 . Those races included one 5km, eight 10kms, three half marathons, a 20-miler, a marathon, and an ultra marathon. Altogether, I clocked up 2162 kilometres, a nice jump up from last year.
What makes it even more special is how far this journey has come. I started running eight years ago with the beginner group, and every year since I’ve improved, pushed myself to go longer and further… faster is still up for debate though 😂.
Taking up running has genuinely been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. It didn’t just change how I move, it changed what I do — I went from simply running for myself, to coaching other runners, personal training, movement restoration and a fun bit of boxing. Coaching is quite literally my favourite thing. I get just as much out of it as the athletes and my clients do, especially watching confidence grow and seeing people realise they’re capable of so much more than they thought.
A BIG shout out to my Striders tribe, who constantly pushed me to achieve more than I ever believed I could.
From those freezing Thursday mornings when I really couldn’t be arsed getting out of bed but went anyway and never regretted it, to the Tuesday morning training runs with Craig, Stacie, and Hannah — whether we were all together or doing our own thing — we still showed up, still put the work in, and still pushed each other along.
Here's to 2026! Another great year of personal running, coaching, friends and family. 😍😍😍😍
