Revised Rules of Boxing published by The United Boxing Council for the 2022/2023 season
Round times
โข All scoring bouts where a winner is to be determined must be scheduled for no less than three rounds, and no more than eight rounds of two minutes.
โข All non-title fights shall be scheduled over a maximum of four rounds of two minutes.
โข Area title fights must be scheduled over a minimum of three rounds of two minutes and shall not exceed six rounds of two minutes or four rounds of three minutes.
โข British title fights must be scheduled over a minimum of four rounds of two or three minutes and shall not exceed eight rounds of two minutes or five rounds of three minutes.
โข All preliminary card bouts must not exceed three rounds (of either two or three minutes).
โข All bouts, including exhibitions, must have a round interval of exactly one minute.
Glove sizes
โข All scoring bouts where a winner is determined shall be fought using 12oz, 14oz, or 16oz gloves.
โข All British title fights must be fought using no more than 12oz gloves (unless permission is granted).
โข All Area title fights must be fought using no more than 14oz gloves (unless permission is granted).

Weigh-ins and making weight
โข Weigh-ins or weight submission must not be less than ยฝ day/s before bout is scheduled, nor greater than 5 day/s before bout is scheduled.
โข No rehydration clause will be in action unless specified.
โข If a boxer fails to make full weight within 2.5% of agreed weight, s/he has two complete hours to reach the agreed weight.
โข If boxer continues to fail to make subsidised weight, the opposing boxer has the full control to terminate, or engage the bout.
โข If the opposing boxer decides to terminate bout, he shall receive full payment of purse and any cash or incentive bonuses. The boxer that failed weight shall forfeit his cash or incentive bonuses but may still receive a maximum 100% of agreed purse, and no less than 75% if unpaid at time of failure (of which determined amount shall be decided at the sole discretion of the PROMOTER). No wins, nor loses shall count towards either boxer, and will therefore be awarded a NO CONTEST (x-x-X).
Unified rules of boxing
โข You cannot hit below the belt, hold, trip, kick, headbutt, wrestle, bite, spit on, or push your opponent.
โข You cannot hit with your head, shoulder, forearm, or elbow.
โข You cannot hit with an open glove, the inside of the glove, the wrist, the backhand, or the side of the hand.
โข You cannot punch your opponent's back, or the back of his head or neck (rabbit punch), or on the kidneys (kidney punch).
โข You cannot throw a punch while holding on to the ropes to gain leverage.
โข You can't hold your opponent and hit him at the same time, or duck so low that your head is below your opponent's belt line.
โข When the referee breaks you from a clinch, you have to take a full step back; you cannot immediately hit your opponent--that's called "hitting on the break" and is illegal.
โข You cannot spit out your mouthpiece on purpose to get a rest.
โข If you score a knockdown of your opponent, you must go to the farthest neutral corner while the referee makes the count.
โข If you "floor" your opponent, you cannot hit him when he's on the canvas.
โข A floored boxer has up to ten seconds to get back up on his feet before losing the bout by knockout.
โข A boxer who is knocked down cannot be saved by the bell in any round.
โข A boxer who is hit with an accidental low blow has up to five minutes to recover. If s/he cannot continue after five minutes, s/he is considered knocked out.
โข If the foul results in an injury that causes the fight to end immediately, the boxer who committed the foul is disqualified.
โข If the foul causes an injury but the bout continues, the referee orders the judges to deduct one or two points from the boxer who caused the injury.
โข If an unintentional foul causes the bout to be stopped immediately, the bout is ruled a "no contest" if ยฝ of the rounds have not been fully completed. If over ยฝ of the rounds have been completed, the judges' scorecards are tallied and the fighter who is ahead on points is awarded a technical decision. If the scores are even, it will be called a "technical draw."
โข If a boxer is knocked out of the ring, he gets a count of 20 to get back in and on his feet. He cannot be assisted.
โข The no three-knockdown rule is in effect.
โข A boxer knocked down shall receive a mandatory eight-count.
โข The bout should be scored using the ten-point system.
