These are 5 things I wish someone had told me back when I was first postpartum. I needed to know these important facts and I also needed someone to tell me that the messy, low-intensity, interrupted workouts I was doing were actually moving the needle, even if it didn’t feel like it.

Except, my story is a bit different! After my GP check, I jumped straight back into CrossFit classes (makes me cringe to even write this) and as a result, I injured myself at 9 months postpartum.

So if you’re reading this, I’m so, so glad! 💛 Thank you for being here. Save this post so you can always refer back to it whenever you need a reminder.

And if you’d love some clarity and evidence based guidance approaching your postpartum return, comment BLUEPRINT and I’ll send you my FREE Postpartum Athlete’s Blueprint to help you approach this season safely and confidently x.

“Prehab” is preventative rehabilitation.

It’s training in anticipation of postpartum recovery.

It’s training with purpose, choosing movements, stimulus, muscle groups, breathing strategies and movement mechanics that support pregnancy while preparing the body for the demands of childbirth and postpartum recovery.

It’s turning every workout into a needle mover and investing in your future self.

It’s wanting more from your workouts than just getting a sweat on or ticking a box.

I go through the principles of Prehab and how to integrate them into your training, inside my free guide, The Pregnant Athlete Playbook.

Comment PLAYBOOK, I’ll send it to you straight in your DMs x

We just don’t talk about this enough.

We’re far too busy praising the athletes who have “bounced back” into training, not realising that for many women, bouncing back is actually the easy part.

The hard part is playing the long game. It’s investing the time and energy into building strong foundations from which to rebuild a body that is stronger than ever.

Because that takes discipline, it takes patience and it takes trust in the process.

Many of the athletes who have followed the Postpartum Athlete Program have said that at times it was so tempting to skip to the “good bits” but that they understood the importance of following and trusting the program, week by week and session by session!
They’ve all said they feel so much stronger for it!

You’ll find more info about the 12 week postpartum plan in the link in my bio! X

Well, It’s been a real eye opener.

Some parts have been a very welcome surprise, and others, well… not so much.

Many gym owners or coaches still believe they can get away with “winging it” when it comes working with pregnant and postpartum athletes. I have a lot of work to do to try and get them to shift that belief.

And then there are gyms who are genuinely trying to do right by their members. My mission is to show them everything there is to know, so they can confidently support pregnant and postpartum athletes with the knowledge, systems, and coaching standards they deserve.

What’s stood out most though is just how many coaches actually want to learn this properly. The interest in the workshops has been incredible.

I honestly cannot wait to kick off this year’s tour in a couple of weeks in London.

London is now sold out, but there are early bird prices available for the other 3 dates:

* Middlesbrough - August
* Edinburgh - September
* Swansea - October

Postpartum just hits different.

No matter how much preparation you did during pregnancy, it’s still a shock.
It can feel like moving in a body that belongs to someone else, and that feeling can be really unsettling.

After my first baby, I was so desperate to reconnect with my body that I jumped straight back into doing the things I thought would feel familiar, but they didn’t.

I tried to “take it slow,” but that wasn’t a strategy. I didn’t have the knowledge, support, or guidance, so I just winged it.

At 9 months postpartum, I injured myself.

But that experience is also what brought me here.

I created the guide I wish I’d had back then: The Postpartum Athlete Blueprint. A guide to help you understand your postpartum body, navigate recovery, and build a body stronger than ever before!

Yes, your body is designed to give birth. But yes, you can train for birth too.

You could enter a marathon untrained. Or you could train for it and run it.

In the same way, you could approach labour untrained. Or you could prepare your body and mind for the demands of birth and anticipate your postpartum rehab.

That doesn’t mean training guarantees a “perfect” birth. But it can help you feel stronger, more capable, more connected to your body, and more prepared for the physical and mental demands of labour and postpartum recovery.

Because pregnancy training isn’t just about “staying active.”It’s about preparing for one of the biggest physical events of your life.

I’ve put everything you need to know inside my FREE guide The Pregnant Athlete Playbook so you can start doing more than adapting workouts.

Doing Murph this year was a little different! ❤️

Last year, my husband and I did it in the garden but we had to do our runs separately so that one of us would be with the children.

This year, they got involved 🥹🥹

We said we’d get started at 7.30am to avoid the heat.
The children were ready at 5.30am 🤣 They were buzzing!

Seeing them getting involved in a workout like this for the first time filled me with so much pride and gratitude!
We had the best morning together in the sunshine and with the best company ❤️💪🏼

At bedtime, we always ask them what was their favourite part of the day, and they both said “doing Murph together” 🥹

So if you want to get your children involved next time, do it!!
20 rounds of 5 x air squats and 10x jumping jacks works really well! Can even do 10 rounds to start.

Give it a go x

Wait, what? ❤️

I genuinely never would have thought I’d be writing this post, but here we are!

Coaching Pregnant & Postpartum Athlete London is officially SOLD OUT. 🥹

It honestly means so much more to me than just selling tickets. Because what this really tells me is that gyms and coaches are wanting to learn more. They want to better support the pregnant and postpartum women walking into their classes every single day. They want to understand the why behind modifications, pressure management, pelvic health, return to training and how to help women feel strong, capable and included through every stage of motherhood.

For so long, pregnant and postpartum athletes have been left to figure it out on their own. So to see rooms filling with coaches who genuinely care about changing that, it honestly gives me so much hope.

Thank you to every single coach who signed up, shared the event, trusted me to teach this work and believes that women deserve better support in the fitness industry.

See you at . I cannot wait for this one❤️
