Good morning all, I attended a meeting at the leisure centre last night, where the first design of new sports facilities was on display. I was impressed ! The planning process will begin and work should start in 2024, so it is taking time, but things are moving. Regards Bob Taylor Electrician

Good morning all, Just a note to keep you up to speed, I attended a meeting with the council's consultant for the SHELF project (upgrading the sports faculties in Stowmarket) and I put across your views from comments on this site, which they have taken on board. Their master plan will submitted shortly.

Meeting arranged with the council's consultant to put your issues forward and ideas on the lack of sports facilities in Stowmarket and how it can be improved, I will report back in the new year, Merry Christmas and a happy new year !

We have more gyms than charity shops now, but our Netball teams have no usable courts to play their home matches on, the council have let our ladies down !!

Good morning all,
Well I attended a Stakeholder Sports Forum meeting on Tuesday and it was a complete waste of 2 hours of my time !!
The meeting was a walk round fact finding mission of the High school and Chilton Fields highlighting the lack of sports and car parking on the sites.
I came away quite depressed after it, it just highlighted the three local councils have let the people of Stowmarket down !!

This page has just over 500 likes without me doing anything!! There are lots of plans coming up for sports facilities in Stowmarket but sadly it’s not something I now can be involved in. Please please share this message as I need someone who is passionate about this to take over the page or I will need to shut it down 😢 Julie

I had a meeting this week, with our fellow campaigners, regarding the development of Greens Meadow. The Community Interest Company have delivered their 5 year business plan and if successful, will allow them to gain a lease and apply for grants to build new indoor and outdoor infrastructure. Stowmarket Community Sports and Social Club CIC was created in 2009 to serve the community of Stowmarket in its pursuit to improve the sporting facilities within the town. It is managed by volunteers and being a CIC is owned by the community!

I've voiced my opinion on this and not personal to anyone who works there or indeed goes but that money could have been invested in some great sports facilities in Stowmarket

The first designs for a multi-million pound revamp of the popular Stowmarket Regal Theatre have been revealed - and work could begin later this year.

Well done to those who attended the consultation unfortunately not as many people went from this page as comments but its easier to comment on here I suppose! Hi everyone just to clarify you can go on Thursday between 4pm and 7.30pm its basically to look at the plans for the 3g pitch and there will be representation from Suffolk FA, Stowmarket Town Council, Architects etc so you can have your opinion, I will be there the whole time so let me know your there.
