A brilliant performance from the girls tonight!
Emily got us off to a fantastic start, setting the momentum with a superb knock, closely followed by an excellent innings from Harriet. Both girls finished in the 40s, with Emily making 48 and Harriet 43. It was also great to see the enthusiasm, communication, and positive calling between the batters throughout the innings.
In the field, Barnt Green had a strong top four, but our girls did a great job of restricting them and keeping the scoring under control. I was particularly impressed with the support, discipline, etiquette, and enthusiasm shown by everyone tonight.
There were wickets for Katie (2), and one each for Darcie, Harriet, and Emilia, while Emily added a smart run out. All of the girls bowled well and fielded brilliantly, contributing to a strong all-round team performance.
A special well done to debutant Bella, who bowled and fielded superbly and looked right at home in the team.
Last but certainly not least, Georgia stepped up behind the stumps and was a natural wicketkeeper. She took on the role for her teammates without hesitation and was encouraging and supportive throughout the evening.
Overall, it was a really good evening for the girls, and they should all be very proud of their efforts.
