Since September 2025, thanks to the incredible support of our community, Friends raised the initial £15,000 needed to help keep the Sports Centre open until April 2026.
We have then raised £29,000 towards the remaining £46,000 needed, with an expected contribution of £15,000 from Cleobury Mortimer Town Council, following the fantastic public support for the council tax precept. This leaves us just £2,000 to raise in the autumn to secure the remaining period before our sports centre moves into the new county-wide tender in August 2027.
This really shows what can be achieved when a community comes together, and we are so grateful to everyone who has donated, attended events, bought raffle tickets, volunteered, and supported us in so many different ways.
After a busy few months of fundraising, Friends will be taking a short summer break. We'll be back in the autumn with renewed energy and plenty of new ideas as we continue our efforts to secure the Sports Centre's future.
A huge thank you to every single person who has helped along the way. We couldn't have achieved so much without you, and we look forward to seeing you again in the autumn!
