I certainly think wall-squats and planks are useful strength and muscle endurance exercises, and now have been shown to reduce blood pressure as well. However make sure that you build them up gradually - don't try to hold them for 2mins (as in the article) straight away if you have never exercised before. Begin with 10s and build to 20-30s over a number of days and weeks.

All exercise is good for blood pressure but research suggests strength training is most effective.
