You can enjoy a glass of w**e AND still care about your fitness 🍷🏋🏼‍♀️

Nobody is coming to confiscate your dumbbells because you had a few drinks at the weekend 😂

But alcohol can affect muscle recovery, sleep, training quality and your overall calorie intake — so it’s worth knowing what’s actually going on.

This isn’t me telling you not to drink. I'm currently writting this and trying not to spill mine 🤪

It’s not “alcohol is bad”. It’s not “your workout was pointless”. And you definitely don’t need to punish yourself with cardio the next morning.

It’s simply about knowing the facts so you can make your own choices.

Because fitness should fit into your life… not require you to stop having one. 🩷

Know the facts. Lose the guilt.

Who did this to us!?

Probably the most asked question — and one of the biggest mental setbacks I deal with as a PT:

“Why has my weight gone up when I’m eating well and training consistently?”

Because your body is not just made up of bones and fat cells.

There is SO much more going on inside our truly amazing bodies that we rarely give ourselves enough credit for.

Somewhere along the line, we’ve been conditioned to believe that our worth and value should somehow be measured by what we weigh — and even worse, that every increase on the scales must mean we’ve gained fat.

Who did this to us?!

Your weight can change because of water, glycogen, hormones, inflammation, digestion, muscle, sodium, stress and your menstrual cycle.

The scales are simply measuring your total mass at that exact moment.

They are not measuring your worth. And they are definitely not measuring body fat alone.

We have a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips now, so please — let’s move forward from this outdated mindset.

Let’s educate ourselves on the basics of human physiology and start giving our bodies a little more respect for everything they’re doing behind the scenes. 🙏🏼🩷

If I could start my fitness journey again, I’d stop trying to do everything perfectly.

I’d lift weights sooner.
Eat more protein.
Stop fearing carbs.
Walk more.
Stop using cardio as punishment.
And focus far more on becoming stronger, not just smaller.

The biggest lesson? You don’t have to feel ready before you start.

You start — and the confidence comes afterwards.
If you’re starting again, starting later, or just feeling a bit stuck, this is your reminder that you haven’t missed your chance. 💪

Save this for the days you need it
