We're hosting SAMH for a 2-day training course next month between 21st and 22nd October to give coaches, volunteers and parents training in how to speak to young people about their mental health, build conversations and check-ins into sessions and to notice the signs of struggling with mental health.

Athlete Travel Award Scheme October 2026 – April 2027 will be open from Monday 7th September 2026.

The Islands Athlete Travel Award Scheme allows Athletes from the Outer Hebrides the opportunity to benefit from the program designed to support travel costs in the islands.
The aim of this scheme is to help elite pathway athletes of the Highlands & Islands to gain better access to competitive and developmental opportunities available on the mainland.
This is the 1st application available for this 2026 period - up to £750 will be made available to successful candidates.

We are delighted to have SAMH coming over next month to deliver 2-days of training for their 'Ahead of the Game' program among the community.

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for coaches, volunteers and parents to learn more about how to talk about Mental Health with young people at their sessions, recognize mental health challenges facing young players and what to do and when to get help.

A sign-up survey will be made available shortly but please share this around our communities as we would love to see as many people involved in sport taking part in this really imporant training, for the benefit of every young person involved in Sport on our Islands 💚
