One of my favourite times of the year is nearly here!

There’s something special about seeing the courts full of energy, hearing the laughter, watching friendships grow, and seeing players leave each day with a smile on their face.

At Team Stony Tennis, our Summer Camps are about so much more than just tennis. Yes, we'll be improving skills and playing lots of tennis, but we'll also be building confidence, creating memories, making new friends, and having loads of fun along the way.

Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or already loves the game, we've got a place for them this summer.

Another year of supporting our neighbours at Stony Stratford Cricket Club Beer Festival

Some partnerships just make sense - and our neighbours at Stony Stratford Tennis Club are exactly that. They’ve supported the festival for years, and we’re delighted to have them sponsoring a barrel once again.

SSLTC is one of the friendliest, most active clubs in Milton Keynes, with a smart clubhouse, nine top‑quality courts, a coaching team that’s second to none, and a thriving membership of around 480 players. Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who lives for match nights, it’s a brilliant place to play.

Set within the beautiful Ancell Trust Sports Ground - just a short stroll from Stony High Street - the club offers tennis all year round. Five newly refurbished Tiger Turf courts, two artificial grass courts and two indoor artificial clay courts (from October to April) mean the weather never gets in the way.

And if you’ve ever thought about giving tennis a try, they’re currently offering a free session for new players - the perfect way to get on court and see what the club is all about.

One of the most exciting days of a week at Summer Camp is the Tournament Day.

There is something so nice about watching players take all they have learned and put it into practice by being competitive while at the same time having fun while competing with friends. Not to be overlooked is the fact that Tournament Day is about learning how to compete, being very sportsmanlike to others, supporting one another, and being brave enough to step on the court and give their all.

Tournament Day is also an opportunity for a child to experience their initial tournament or continue to develop a passion for competition.

With summer approaching quickly, I am pumped to once again enjoy an awesome summer of tennis with Team Stony Tennis.
We have tons of tennis, from lessons to fun-filled competitions and challenges. Each of these camps include a great way to meet new friends.

The upcoming Starter Tennis Tournament takes place on June 14 and provides players who are new to the sport of Tennis with a fun way to experience match play and develop their game. The tournament will give players the opportunity to:
- Gain confidence,
- Learn from experience,
- Develop their sportsmanship,
- Create the excitement that comes from competing against other players.

Don't worry if this is your first tournament it is a great way to continue improving as a tennis player while having fun!

The tournament will run from 12 pm until 4 pm at Stony Stratford Tennis Club, and the cost to enter is £12.

There’s plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes that people don’t always see. Fitness sessions are a huge part of player development building speed, movement, balance, coordination, and the physical strength needed to perform well on court.

I love seeing the energy and effort these players bring every session. It’s not always easy, but growth happens when you challenge yourself and keep pushing forward.

The work being put in today is building the players they’ll become tomorrow. Keep going team!

The following is a behind-the-scenes look at one of our twelve-and-under Excel Pathway training sessions at Team Stony Tennis. Each session consists of players being challenged outside of their comfort zone, developing better habits, working on necessary skill sets to compete with confidence.

I enjoy the focus, energy, and effort that these athletes display every time they arrive to the court. It is not only about hitting perfect shots but also the process of learning, developing and getting a little better with every session.

I believe the future looks bright!
