Whether you're a teacher, school staff member, senior pupil, parent, current volunteer, or someone interested in getting involved with netball, this practical workshop is for you!

🌟 Young Ambassadors Conference 2026🌟

Last week, Active Schools Aberdeenshire proudly hosted our Young Ambassadors Conference at Inverurie Town Hall, bringing together Young Ambassadors from across Aberdeenshire alongside Active Schools Coordinators and school staff.
The day was packed with opportunities to connect, collaborate, plan, and inspire one another as we look ahead to another exciting year of increasing participation and promoting the power of sport and physical activity in our schools and communities. 💪🏃‍♀️🏅

👏 A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success. Special recognition goes to our Leadership Subgroup members Rebecca Ripley, Kerry Butler, and Calum Smith, whose hard work and dedication saw them plan and deliver the entire conference.

🏉 Thanks also to Kim and Garioch Rugby Club for leading an engaging workshop, and to our fantastic PE teachers Miss Cu***ng, Miss Rae, Miss Clements, and Mr Mathews from Banff, Portlethen, Inverurie, and Westhill for their valued support throughout the day.

⭐ Most importantly, a massive shout-out to all of our Young Ambassadors. Your enthusiasm, positivity, ideas, and energy were truly inspiring and made the day what it was.

We’re excited to be bringing Girlz A'LOUD to Aberdeenshire! 🚴

Over the three Saturdays, girls aged 12–16 will have the chance to get involved in a mix of on-bike and off-bike activities, led by fantastic female coaches. The sessions are all about building confidence, developing new skills and meeting other girls who enjoy being active.

A fantastic opportunity for U12s to experience some fun cycling sessions via the explorr Festival Dirt Crits between 11am and 12.30pm on Saturday 29th August 2026 at King George V Park, Banchory!

Led by local cycling club Deeside Thistle and their qualified coaching team, these sessions are part of the brand new cycling and running based explorr Endurance Festival and children who have a bike with knobbly tyres are welcome.

☀️ Summer Programme in full flow! ☀️

have had a busy start to the summer. Hosting Ball Games and Netball yesterday and now Golf at Deveron Community and Sports Centre today.

Thanks you to Ian from Royal Tarlair Golf Club along with some of our young leaders Bella and Kaname for stopping past today to run the golf sessions. Much appreciated. Some promising young golfers in the group!

There's still time to get involved! We have spaces available for Athletics, Tennis and Gymnastics. As well as a variety of activities this summer across Aberdeenshire, including:

Gordon Skiers Summer Camp 2026!

Bookings are now open for our week-long Summer Camp at Garthdee Dryslope, Aberdeen, running from 20–24 July.

Book individual days or join us for the full week
£40 per day
Drop off: 9:00am | Pick up: 3:30pm

Our camp focuses on building excellent ski technique through racing, fitness activities and multi-activity games, making it perfect for young skiers who are ready to take their skiing to the next level in a fun, supportive environment.
The camp is open to both members and non-members, offering a fantastic opportunity for new families to experience Gordon Skiers and see what our club is all about.

Minimum requirements:
Confident, linked parallel turns
Ability to independently use the POMA tow
Minimum age: 6 years old (this is a drop-and-go camp)

🏃‍♀️💨 That’s a wrap on Run4Fun 2026!

A huge well done to all the amazing runners who took part across this year’s races— it’s been fantastic to see so many children getting active, building confidence, and enjoying being part of our Run4Fun series. 🙌🌟

👏 Thank you as well to families and volunteers for all your support throughout the series — we couldn’t do it without you!

🏅 Participation Medals:
If your child has qualified for a participation medal, these will be delivered to schools before the summer holidays.
