Three in three for Stone!!

Stone 31 - Newcastle II 17

Try scorers: Cam Mckay (2), Lewis Kemp, Joe Baggaley, Sam Clarke

MOM: Elliott Waller
DOD: Tom Hughes

It’s taken a few attempts, but we’re back to winning ways against Newcastle!!
The visitors turned up with physicality & scored an early try, putting us on the back foot. A slow start from Stone. But we regrouped, recovered & though Newcastle kept the scoreboard tight until around sixty mins, we felt in control & comfortable throughout the second half.

A great start to the season. Progressing in the cup & winning our two first league matches. We look to continue our run next week, at home again as Oswestry come to town.

Thank you to our sponsors, supporters, volunteers & players who missed out on selection this week, still shouting from the sidelines.

Training as always is Wednesday 7pm. Bring a mate.

Essington 31 - Stone 40

Try scorers: Cam McKay (2), Lewis Kemp (2), Adam Greaves, Daryl Fox

MOM: Daryl Fox
DOD: Joshua Cheadle

Straight into winning ways when it matters!!

First game with something on the line, loads of lads unavailable and some new faces coming into the mix, but the boys got the job done.

Not perfect, and in typical Stone fashion we made it a bit more exciting than it needed to be, but there were plenty of positives. The forwards were dominant, the set piece was strong, we defended well and we kept finding ways to get the job done.

Big credit to everyone who stepped up, especially the lads coming back in after time away and those making their first appearance. Everyone contributed and thats all that matters.

First run out. First W. Plenty to work on, but a solid start.

Training Wednesday, 7pm as we prepare for a local derby with St Leonards.
