Just wanted to give a big shout out to our epic JEL athletes who have been ZOOM-ing their way through lockdown ๐Ÿ’ช gaining strength and retaining motivation through 2021! ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ
Massive well done in particular to our pregnant and post natal ladies who have joined the team โญ๏ธ
We are pleased to see the sun is shining and restrictions should be lifted soon, so we can resume face to face training again shortly! ๐Ÿค˜

Breakfast! ๐Ÿฅ„

Starting lockdown on a positive note with this yummy breakfast - really enjoyed this Greek Yogurt, Melon, Raspberry, Blueberry and peanut butter, banana oat crunch bowl this morning ๐Ÿ˜‹ bonus it took about as long as it takes the kettle to boil!
A great tip to ensure you are fuelled correctly and filled up is to incorporate protein into EVERY MEAL, even breakfast!! Itโ€™s very easy to have a carb heavy breakfast but by added eggs, Greek yogurt or nuts you can boost that protein macro and ensure you body is getting a balance meal!

Check out this fake-away Fish and Chips! Breaded oven baked fish, homemade wedges and broccoli, complete with tomato purรฉe instead of sugar filled Tommy K! ๐ŸŸ ๐ŸŸ ๐Ÿ… Much lower in calories, higher in micro nutriants, packed with flavour and enough to fill you up!

Especially with these shorter days creeping in, it is even more important to get your body moving. ๐Ÿšด Exercise releases endorphins to help lift your mood (you always feel better AFTER a workout right? ๐Ÿ’ช) but by getting outside you will also get a good dose of serotonin which is also a proven mood booster! โ˜€๏ธ
Plus working out outside can be nice escape from the gym, screens and include family and friends! Whatโ€™s your favourite outdoor exercise? ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Everyone has to start somewhereโ–ถ๏ธ
So to put myself (Jay) on the spot, this series of pictures show the progress to a better version of myself.
Weโ€™ve all seen those posts, โ€˜it only took 8 weeksโ€™ but in reality thats not always the FULL truth...
The left hand picture (taken 8 years ago) was 12 months after a serious knee injury (17st 6lb).... the right hand picture at the beginning of August this year (13st 10lb). โšก๏ธ
What these DONT show is the s**t most people go through of putting weight back on as life throws stuff back in your way. ๐Ÿ’ฉ
In my example I was told due to my injury I can not do mountain biking, martial arts, snowboarding ever again. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ (but did return too) Then working 15 hour days for nearly 2 years and putting a load of weight back on due to stress and very poor eating habits. Only to have to start all over again! ๐Ÿ”
Itโ€™s not always easy and a lot of these before and after QUICK transformations never seem to talk about what happens AFTER & it can take longer than just 8 or 12 weeks to form better habits for sustainable fat loss. ๐Ÿ‘™
The things I found that WORKED:๐Ÿ’ฅ
1๏ธโƒฃEnjoy your exercise in what ever form that takes.
2๏ธโƒฃMaking smaller habit changes you are able to maintain.

These are key things I incorporate in my clients programs, meaning their PROGRESS is SUSTAINED! ๐Ÿ’ช
These key things add up to bigger changes in the long run and in my case being able to enjoy a few beers and the odd pizza. ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Another good week with clients achieving their goals!!!

Also enjoying this simple but effective workout. Short version shown of a body weight workout + weights vest, finishing off each round with kettlebell swings.
