Remembering John Banks

We are very saddened to hear of John Banks's passing on Tuesday evening.

John was part of the Stokesley Pool League for many years and was a familiar face to players across the league. I had the pleasure of playing alongside him, where he helped win league titles for several teams and lifted the Doubles Knockout trophy on multiple occasions.

Those achievements tell part of the story, but anyone who knew John will remember him as much for the laughs, the banter and the company as for anything he did on the pool table. He was always good to have around and played the game in the right spirit.

The message from his family that he "had a great time with you all" says a lot about what the league means and the friendships made along the way. It's something we can all take pride in.

On behalf of everyone involved with the Stokesley Pool League, our thoughts are with John's family and friends at this sad time.

Thank you for the memories, John.

Rest in peace.

Both Sports A and Sports B reached the Grainge Cup Final, with congratulations to Stokesley Sports Club A on their victory.

The final was played in memory of brothers Joe and Peter at the The Black Swan Kirkby in Cleveland. A fitting setting for the occasion, with a good crowd in attendance and a strong spirit throughout the evening.

The final will be played in memory of brothers Joe and Peter, with the match taking place at the The Black Swan Kirkby in Cleveland.
