Race Format
All classes are to be run on distance over 2min 30sec with laps and footages counting, to your total distance over 6 races. In the event of a tie, the furthest distance in any of the 6 races will determine the winner. NSSRC General Rules 2015

Cars
Must be 1/32 scale
Must have matching body and chassis
(3D printed chassis made for specific body, must be available from retail outlets)
Must have interior including driver
Must run front tyres
Weight may be added to the inside of the car and must be secure
Screws maybe loose and maybe covered with tape or blu tac to prevent loss, if you do continue to lose a screw/screws from the same car in multiple races tape/blu tac will be compulsory for the rest of that evening. If a wheel or Body is lost during a race it must be replaced within one lap, if you choose to continue for another lap you will lose the points for that race. If you borrow a car, 1st you must make it clear to scrutineering, 2nd you will be able to run but you will receive no points for that race. Tyres must be rubber on all cars raced, no ortmans, urethane, silicone or sponge. Body Rock: This can be achieved by the heating of the shell so it can be expanded to fit a tight chassis, or light shaving or filing of the chassis (not shell). The modification must not be as extreme that a full 1 or 2mm gap is around the edge of the chassis. Body rock is what the rule is for not lightening of the car. Race Rules
Drivers must not leave the podium until the last car has crossed the finish line. After 3 minutes of the previous race ending the next race will start. After racing you must marshal the colour coordinated point, if you are unable to marshal you must arrange for someone else to marshal your spot. Cars must be put back on track were they came off. If you do not start the race you will receive no distance for that race. Should a car breakdown during a race it cannot be replaced
Should a track fault be called, the race is to be finished and the fault to be confirmed before a restart. If 4 cars are off on the first bend a restart will be called
If a car deslots on the straight, 1st the driver must make the other racers and race control aware they are off, the power will be cut and the car will be put back on by a marshal. If there is a crash as a result of a deslot on the straight, the marshals are to quickly assess the cars, if they are damaged the car can be handed to the driver, when the race is restarted for repair. If you are repeatedly desloting in straight lines you will be asked to remove your car until the problem is resolved. This decision is to be made by scrutineering. The use of tape, oil 3in1 type and zippo on the tyres is accepted at the track, the use of any other liquid is banned, and this includes wintergreen, Mb slot treatment basically anything that smells must not be added to your tyres on the night. If in doubt ask. Scrutineering
This will take place at the start of the night when paying, your car must not race until it has been scrutinised. A basic width check of the rear and front axles inc tyres, and the car will be looked over to check it conforms to the rules. If you fail to pass (i.e. no wing, incorrect width etc) you can run the car but you will be penalised points (10 points) or distance (10 laps) off your final total (unless you are borrowing a car then the borrowed car rule applies (no points)
If you change your car it must be presented for re-scrutineering. Random scrutineering will take place throughout the night. Scrutineer’s decision is final. If in doubt please ask

Friday 12/06/26 Group 5

This week racing was the third round of Group 5/Touring car.

First place was won by Alex (no surprise there) yet again showing us all up with his speed and consistency, it does seem like cheating that he can do both.

Dean and Archie both had less than perfect starts to their first heats, but made it up in the later heats to prove that they certainly are the best of the rest on this day. Dean took second away from Archie by around fifteen foot! (you would think a father would let his son beat him to get second place, but we all agreed Dean is mean).

Driver of the night has to go to Kerry, they managed to get a few laps in the sevens, proving their improvement.

Next week is Classics!

29/05/2026 open Endurance. It's one of our fastest classes top guys laps should be low to mid 6's but laps at best were just mid 6's the grip levels were not there the room was hot the track too.
Alex as usual set the pace and won the night but it was "the wonder from downunder" Andy our very own airline pilot had flown in from Hong Kong to do one night of racing ( well he had really come to see his family really ) before he returned to flying, he drove his inline Proslot Toyota gt1 christened Godzilla 2 to just 0.2 in front of Robbo,
Andy gets the driver of the night, his trip back to UK with only 1 night of practice and the race night putting in a well deserved 2nd place. As said the grip levels everyone seemed to suffer the grip just seemed to come and go drag you in then leave you a strange night indeed. As you can see from one of the photos Robbo some would say got what he deserved 🤜💥🤪

So fun night 22/5/26
At every end of the run of classes before we start the classes again we have a fun night where we do something that we don't normally do, this time we decided to do a rally night. The club has 3 permanent rally tracks which are covered to provide bench space for club members to put the boxes etc " The pits", " Quarry " and "Desert" . 13 people attended and were spilt into 3 groups so the 3 tracks had people racing on them at all time once finished move on to next track and so on. Most people that raced had never done ralling at the club before. You don't need to have anything too fancy so there was a mixture of scalextric scx ninco and a scaleauto car
Top guys usually do well in every class would be the same in Rally
1st Alex with 115.65 total seconds on the 3 tracks , 2nd Robbo +6.2 seconds
3rd chris +10.3 seconds
4th Deano +11.01
5th Ian +11.9
6th Tez +13..5
7th Archie +17.9
8th Daz + 18.5
9th Lewis +20.1
10th Dunc +28.4
11th Jim +50.3
12th Kerry +59.4
13th Dean retired after car motor caught fire in the last rally stage.
So who got racer of the night everyone did well but 3 in particular stuck out young Lewis as his first attempt at a race night and Jim for doing well in 2 of his stages sadly one stage let him down badly from a possible podium and Daz for his 3rd place on the Desert stage
Stages
The Pits
1st Ian 25.720
2nd Jim +1.720
3rd Deano +2.01

1st Alex 42.820
2nd Robbo +2.910
3rd Chris +5.20
"Desert"
1st Robbo 42.714

15/05/26 was time for the bigger 1/24 hard bodied slot cars. These cars run on sponge tyres and the grip they generate is amazing as these cars are around 4 times heavier than our normal 1/32 scale cars. On to the racing considering these size of these cars it's a wonder that they can race side by side without taking a car out, okay it can happens and did but it's great to seem them race around the track the top 2 putting low 6 second lap times the 3rd and 4th placed racers mid 6's. Alex took the win 4 laps clear of 2nd placed Dean, Alex had a major off onto Robbo's lane, Robbo slowed and stopped to get Alex off his lane but unfortunately it was Robbo's car that was removed by the marshels not Alex's this cost both of them around 1.5 laps to sort out but seems like an age while you wait🤦. Devon took 3rd. Young Will continues to improve his racing here ar north staffs and at the Truspeed track he almost took 4th place, but Robo's first race the copper tape was broken and was found causing him to crash out so at the end of the night he had a that race rerun and he over took Will in the final results. With his valiant effort and great racing young Will took the racer of the night and he put in some laps in 6.7 and 6.8 seconds which on its own is a big achievement but with these cars he did exceptionally well beating more seasoned racers. well Will. Young Oscar also needs a mention with his racing of these 1/24 cars and possibly would have got the racer of the night if it were not fir Will getting in Oscar also did 6.9 seconds laps and his 2nd half of his nights racing was great to see over taking racers without taking them out mind you his dad Deano might not agree as Oscar tipped him out in one of his ealier races oooops🤦 Oscar went on to finish 5th his dad Deano was 6th

Friday 08/05/2026 Formula 1

14 racers attended this week in the only class using "crash and burn rules". Always a contentious format that brings out some surprise results and rewards consistency.

Alex was the driver to beat, as expected he had a blistering pace and clearly in his own class.

Mark came second, which is a great result, but being over eight laps down just shows the current performance deficit to Alex in this class.

Archie came third. Archie overcame a troubled start to the night to get back into a podium position with great racing with his last few heats.

There was a couple of incidents worth noting that the results don't show. John Bailey came off on his first lap of the night, ruining his chances of a good result as all his other heats went without issue. Likewise Terry had an assisted off early on that was impossible to recover from. Obviously we had the obligatory "THATS COST ME THE NIGHT!" shout, but in this case it's possibly true!

Driver over the night has to go to Jim, one of the least experienced racers he kept his head down and kept adding the laps letting him come up from the bottom of the tables.

Next week it's the turn of the big boys with 1/24th racing!

This Week is Formula 1

Looking at Monday nights practice Alex will be the one to beat. Unfortunately i'm personally about 0.6 seconds per lap behind with an NSR Formula 22 (I should really finally build the Scaleauto), however with crash and burn rules it's never over until the end of the last heat.

Luckily, unlike the real thing, there are no after race penalties so we will actually know the positions at the end of the race!
