So the new season is fast approaching and it’s about the team. ⚽️

Last season we had support from 2 businesses in Danheat LTD(Kev Ball) and JCB and it allowed the whole season to be self funded which saw us have the best of everything. Playing on a quality pitch and the support and backing of a fantastic pub in Charlie Bassetts in Dilhorne.

If you would like to become a team sponsor(replacing player sponsorships) have 10 slots available and will ensure we complete the season comfortably for £170 (can be paid in full or 3 payments of £57)

Charlie Bassetts continued their Summer League campaign with a trip to Mayfield to face Royal Oak looking to bounce back after defeat to Mickleover last week.

Bassetts welcomed back manager Dean Forrester to the dugout and saw Michael McCarron, Lewis McMurdo and Luke Bebbington making their first starts of the campaign.

The game started very cagey with Bassetts dominating but struggling to get a passing flow but were 2-0 up at Half time.

The game was used to ensure every player got game time and the target was the win and fitness for all of the squad as we develop an understanding of each other.

The second half was more organised and Bassetts ran out 6-2 winners with a hat trick for Lewis McMurdo and a goal each for Adam Harper, Jord Eagle and Will Hepburn.

A good game played with no bookings by a new referee to the league who was respectful and positive. A true credit to his code and hopefully will referee Sunday’s next year. Seemed a all round top guy 💙🙌

Man of the match was given to Luke Bebbington ⭐ 💪

Charlie Bassetts faced Step 7 side Mickleover Athletic tonight at the Don Amott Stadium.

In a closely contested first half which saw Mickleover have plenty of possession but the Bassetts lads pressed and didn’t give them a minute it looked likely to be heading in at 0-0 but Mickleover scored two quick fire goals and went in 2-0 up.

The second half saw a change in formation and Mickleover had work harder and went 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go. Stand in gaffer Will Hepburn bought himself on with 10 minutes to go and scored a screamer. Dave Deakin produced a fantastic save with 5 minutes to go. Mickleover added a fourth after a foul on Lucas Stubbs was missed.

Bobby Hair was awarded man of the match by the opposition.
