I have finally given weight lifting sleeves a try, having been plagued with knee pain for the last 12 months. Squats have always been one of my favourite exercises, and I have always preferred them to leg press machines, due to the fact there's more of technical aspect to them. With not being able to do barbell back squats lately, I feel my lower body strength and hip movement has suffered alot.
So after reading up and looking at lots of reviews on amazon I picked the Titan ones. (Link below.)
Getting them on involves a roll up and over the knee technic which is shown on the box. Without doing this it's impossible, they are so thick 7mm, and a very snug fit. Once on my knees feel really springy again it's weird.
Squat, time!🦵
After a few test squats, I built the weight up to 60kg, which before absolutely killed at the joint. With these on there was hardly any discomfort, and I could actually feel my glutes, hamstring and quads doing the work. Where before, it felt like my knees were taking all the force and wanted to explode.
So far I am impressed, I've always avoided supports as my my thinking was loading the joint is important to keep them healthy and strong. However I've change my mind since getting older. If I can get stronger quads and hamstrings with supports then it may help with the knee pain and joint strength. We shall see 👀, I will let you know in a few months time if it's working 🙂
