Stoke Prior Sports & Country Club - since the 1920s

The club was originally a wooden building built in the 1920s by the workers of the nearby ICI factory and eventually became a members club. Sadly the wooden building was burnt down in the early 1980s, with portacabins being stationed on the car park, to keep the club going for the members until the existing brick building could be built. As time went on the committee of the club began to run short of finances and eventually the club was sold to its current owners in 2001.

Today it is owned by Wilf Goddard & Nigel Meredith and is managed by Wilf’s grandson, Mark Goddard. The social element has been kept by the club as a place for local residents to socialise. It is no longer a members club, therefore membership is not required and all members of the public are warmly welcomed.

The venue features a fully licensed bar, open seven days a week, serving a range of alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as a range of Lavazza coffee & Galaxy hot chocolate. As well as having a sociable lounge bar, the venue also has a large function room. The function room, complete with a stage, is available to hire for many functions including; birthdays, weddings, celebrations, christenings, music shows and is licensed for up to 300 people.

Outside we have ample free parking for customers, and a large field available to hire for sports matches, festivals, car boot sales, family fun days, car shows and many more…
