🚨 NCAA COMMITMENT 🚨
Congratulations to SGS graduate Ted Carter on his commitment to Aurora University and the next chapter of his football journey in the NCAA. 🇺🇸

While still in the final year of sixth form, Ted was moved up to our University programme, where he went on to beat out two senior university players to claim the starting Tight End position. A testament to both his talent and his work ethic.

An exceptional blocker, talented receiver, and accomplished kicker, Ted’s versatility has made him one of the most complete football players to come through our programme in recent years.

After graduating from SGS Sixth Form, Ted spent a year at high school in the United States, continuing to develop both academically and athletically before earning his opportunity at the next level.

Aurora University competes in NCAA Division III, one of the most competitive college football environments in the world, and we have no doubt Ted will embrace the challenge ahead.

We are incredibly proud of everything Ted has achieved so far and excited to watch his continued development in the NCAA. Knowing Ted, this is only the first step in what could be a very exciting future.

🚨 SGS ALUMNI – CJFL PATHWAY 🚨

Massive congratulations to SGS graduate Tiago De Almeida on signing with the Prince George Kodiaks in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) 🇨🇦

Tiago was a disruptive force on the defensive line during his time at SGS. An explosive and aggressive defensive end, he consistently caused problems for opposing offences with his speed off the edge, relentless effort and physical style of play.

The CJFL is one of the most respected junior football leagues in North America and has become a proven development route for players looking to test themselves against high-level competition. The Prince George Kodiaks compete in the BC Football Conference, widely regarded as one of the strongest conferences within Canadian junior football.

We’re excited to see Tiago take on this next challenge and continue his development overseas.

At SGS, we pride ourselves on creating opportunities for players to pursue both their academic and football ambitions. Whether it’s competing in BUCS, playing overseas during the summer, or progressing into the professional game, our athletes continue to prove they can succeed on multiple pathways.

Massive congratulations to Denzel Boye on signing with the Valley Huskers for the upcoming CJFL season.

Denzel was arguably the most improved player on our team last year and fully deserves this opportunity.

🏈 Denzel Boye
An aggressive edge rusher who made life difficult for opposing offences all season long. Denzel consistently found his way into the backfield, recording multiple key sacks and tackles for loss throughout the year. His relentless motor and physical style of play made him one of the standout defenders in our programme.

The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is one of the premier development leagues in North America and has become a proven pathway for athletes looking to compete at a high level while continuing their development. The Valley Huskers, based in British Columbia, are one of the CJFL’s longest-established programmes and have a strong reputation for developing talent and competing at a high standard year after year.

Denzel follows in the footsteps of Aston Balment, who also progressed from SGS to the Valley Huskers last season.

📚 Why SGS?

Denzel is currently studying for a Business degree at SGS. One of the strengths of our programme is the flexibility it provides student-athletes pursuing opportunities overseas.

Players can continue their development in leagues across Europe and North America during the summer months while remaining on track academically through remote support from our university staff.

You don’t have to choose between your degree and your football journey.

Our players are in constant demand. Everyone wants an SGS graduate.

Massive congratulations to Iestyn Wright, who has officially touched down in Canada and is ready to begin the next chapter of his football journey with the Westshore Rebels.

The Westshore Rebels compete in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL), one of the premier development leagues in North America. The CJFL has a long history of producing players for U SPORTS, the CFL and professional opportunities beyond, making it an outstanding environment for young athletes looking to develop their game.

The Rebels are one of the CJFL’s most established programmes and have become a familiar destination for SGS talent over the years. Iestyn follows in the footsteps of former SGS defenders Caleb Ehirim, PJ Hudson and Feranmi Okunlola, who this week signed professionally with the Alpine Rams in Europe.

🏈 Iestyn Wright
A tough interior defensive lineman from over the bridge in Wales. Iestyn brings a physical presence to the middle of the defence and has consistently developed his game throughout his time at SGS. His toughness, work ethic and ability to control the line of scrimmage should see him thrive in Canadian football.

We’re excited to see what he can achieve with the Rebels and look forward to following his progress throughout the season.
