Junior Tribal League tonight

Congratulations to former Lions coach Anthony Reed who has been named England u14 Head Coach.

Anthony started with Teesside at the age of 11 as a player, and not only developed to national league mens level but also became a high level referee as well as an elite level coach.

Anthony still plays for Lions in Durham League and still remains connected, since departing to join Newcastle Eagles four years ago.

The season has finished for Lions, but our friends in Newcastle are in the semi final of the British Championship Basketball Playoffs at Newcastle University Sports Centre this Saturday.

Good session today, as we welcomed Ben Houchen - Tees Valley Mayor to Queens Campus.

Ben is an advocate of the work we do in the community, and developing players in not just basketball, but also as people in general.

Ben was really impressed with the numbers and standard of the session. He also selected two players who impressed him. Well done to George Kay and Marnie Johnson who were selected by Ben as the MVPs!

After the session Ben met with James Thomson to discuss the club, it's impact, and the ambitions to do more in the area.
