💚Thornaby ParkPlay February vibes ✌️

💚Tonight was all about inclusion- the game, the conversation, the challenges that 'getting there' can present- we travelled a journey in 2 hours!!

💚Such a valuable journey to travel with our young people- having the difficult conversations- as divisive issues arise-is absolutely fundamental to creating safety & inclusivity.

💚We're calling our Victoria Park crew a raw example of 'excellent work in progress' when it comes to learning about differences and the struggles this can bring when a person is trying to find their place in a community.

💚Proud of our gang for listening, reflecting and working on their pre-conceived ideas. 💯

💚Authentic, sustainable inclusion is not only about creating safety when services, professionals & trusted adults are present, it's about shaping attitudes that allow for safety & having 'a place' when we are not around 🫶👌

💚Another week, another load of gorgeousness at Victoria Park 🥰

💚Absolutely freeze-a-rama 🥶but, that did not stop us having fun! 💪

💚We were missing some of our regular crew but, the die-hard Park Player's were there & ready for action!

💚Thanks to Jade for joining us and getting fully invested in the session!

💚We were excited to invite some of our talented athletes to a new venture 🫶

💚Starting from Thursday 12th February, Corner House Youth Project will be taking a combo of our Vic Park crew and their BOSS Girls, to Middlesbrough Sports Village -so that they can access some structured, professional athletics Coaching 🏃‍♀️🏃🙌

💚Really looking forward to see how this all develops- opening up & supporting access to sporting opportunities that EVERY child should have available to them is where it's at 💯

💚Signing off with imagining the possibility of creating an athletics talent pathway for under represented Stockton young people 🤔

💚This crazy bunch are full of energy every week.

💚After some fun & games to warm us up, the commitment to improving upon our PB's-from the corner to the lampost and back-was oooonn!!! 💪

💚The most improved time got to have a cuddle with Brownie the hamster🥇🐹🤣

💚Just wonderful to see the support- cheering and encouragement for each other 🥰

💚100% pure buzz being around these faces!

💚And we even managed to squeeze in some stargazing as the session drew to an end ✨️🪐👌

💚Rubbish photographic representation of a mega Thornaby ParkPlay session tonight! 🙈

💚A solid crowd of ParkPlay faithful came to join us!

💚After some warm ups & stretches, we played some games & then limbered up for some more athletic action! 🏃🏃‍♂️

💚We did some sprints reps tonight. 💪🏃‍♂️

💚Young Freddie holds the Victoria Park world record-for the gate to lamp post and back again event! (16.8 seconds for anyone that wants a challenge!💪 🥇⏱️).

💚Back again next week for more active After school fun! 🙌

💚We've just about thawed out from our first Thornaby ParkPlay of 2026! 🥶

💚Gorgeous to see some of our regular faces and catch up about the Christmas break 💞

💚The conditions underfoot meant our normal session couldnt safely go ahead. ❄️🥶

💚Instead- we did some warm ups, sprints and circuits on the field.

💚The current 1 lap Victoria Park world record stands at:
Boys: 1 minute 39 secs 💪
Girls: 1 minute 55 secs💪

💚Back again next week for another training session and hopefully some ParkPlay games! 🤞

💚Thornaby ParkPlay was a vibe tonight 🤪😆

💚We called in to see our pals at Sprouts Community Food Charity - who were serving up some top dollar Jacket Spuds-with fancy pants Haagen Dazs for pudding! 👌

💚Then we headed - en masse- to Victoria Park for as much fun as we could safely manage in the dimming light of day!

💚Some absolute wild energy release took place & some really useful conversations about school, keeping safe, friendships and va**ng.

💚Looking forward to doing it all again next week!
