Amazing time today working with Emma on the River Tees. Emma wanted a session tailored to river safety, paddling technique, top tips for standing-up and rescue essentials. Initially, we looked at equipment to keep us safe, hazard identification, self rescue techniques, what to do if we loose our paddle and how to get a tired paddler back on their board. We then explored how our position and posture effect our balance and help us to confidently stand-up, and we finished by looking at sweep turns. Emma's confidence grew throughout the session and she now feels confident to join her friends on the river!
