🏏 FIRST HARDBALL WIN FOR OUR UNDER 11s! 🏏
An early start for our Under 11s at Great Ayton this morning and after a narrow defeat on Friday, the team were determined to put things right.
Captain Evie Green won the toss and elected to field first. What followed was an outstanding all-round display, with tight, accurate bowling and excellent fielding restricting Great Ayton to 68/5 from their 16 overs.
Toby Brooks was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Evie, James and Vinnie all chipped in with wickets of their own.
Ben and Jesse opened the batting against the quickest bowler we’ve faced so far this season and produced a superb partnership. They batted with maturity and confidence, keeping their wickets intact and laying the perfect platform for the innings.
Brooksy and James followed with another excellent stand, adding valuable runs without losing a wicket, before Vinnie and Evie kept the scoreboard ticking with some positive batting.
With the foundations firmly in place, Doddsy and Toby W finished the job in style, guiding the team to a well-earned victory.
This was a fantastic team performance and the reward for three years of hard work, training and commitment from the players, coaches and parents.
