Darlington 21st All Stars Tournament – Match Report
Stockton Town Under 8s made their mark at the Darlington 21st All Stars Tournament today, with a fantastic showing from all of their young players across a brilliant day of football.
With a large group of players drawn from the Stockton Town Under 8 Reds and Under 8 Girls squads, the coaching staff took the creative decision to split the group into two teams for the day — the Reds and the Blacks — giving every child the chance to shine in their own right.
Both sides hit the ground running in the group stages. The Reds impressed throughout, topping the group with some confident, energetic performances. The Blacks were not far behind, finishing in second place and showing plenty of quality of their own to secure their place in the knockout rounds.
The semifinals saw both Stockton Town sides rise to the occasion, each coming through their respective matches to set up a thrilling all-Stockton final — a remarkable achievement and a real testament to the strength and depth within the squad.
The final itself was a tight, hard-fought affair, as you’d expect from two teams who know each other well. It was the Reds who edged it, claiming the trophy with a 1-0 victory in what was a memorable conclusion to a superb day.
But the result, impressive as it was, told only part of the story. Every single player — Reds and Blacks alike — put in an outstanding shift and should be incredibly proud of how they represented Stockton Town. Days like these are what grassroots football is all about.
Congratulations to all involved! 🏆
