Final reveal on the NE 26/27 squad!

Vince - Back after a very long injury. Will be good to see him on court again.

Nath - squad support with his focus being Durham league. Has improved massively over the last season and will be looking to continue that on again.

Mike B - Another one coming back from a long lay off. More than capable centre when back to full fitness

Prem - Second season back from injury. Fitness building all the time. Very dependable at both ends of the court.

Luke - Bags of potential, expecting a big season from him!

And that’s the lot!

Season starts in just over a week.
Preseason has looked good.

Players!!

Boomer - only started playing when we formed the club. Has come on leaps and bounds!
Kags - Improving all the time and enjoying herself doing it. Ended last season with a cheeky little basket in the play off final.
Ethan - New to Smog. Loads of potential. Will be good watching him grow this season.
Poppy - Will go toe to toe with anyone. Fully suited to Mixed basketball. Has a tidy shot from mid range too!

Next up!
Team Captains!

Danny back from a lengthy lay off and is straight back in as a club captain - Smog through and through
Jack Mc has found his love of basketball again. Has grow over the last 2 seasons and will be on the Captain crew!
Alex Tam - a big part of the team from the word go in the NE mixed league. Next season he makes the step up to the captain role!
And finally Kelly - Kelly continues to work hard in training while also being Smog through and through. Having the experience of being a club captain will bring her on even more!

Pleasure to have them all in the squad.

With the new season fixtures due to land on Friday it’s time to meet the team.

First up the coaching set up!
All will continue to play but in sessions and on a game day will come together to provide drills and coaching that will help players of all levels and abilities.

All 3 are basketball England Level Two coaches so even if you’re brand new to the game and just wanna give it a go you’re in good hands!

All 3 are volunteers and we can’t thank them enough for doing what they do to make Smog what it is.

Top morning of Volleyball over at Queens!

Firstly big kudos to Steel River Stingrays for putting down the 🏈 and picking up the 🏐 and giving this a go!
They all got stick in, communication from them was on point and as the games went on they got better and better!
Well done all!

Then we had Mike turn up for a game, Mike plays at the Friday social session at queens on a Friday and wanted to have a run with Smog and of course he was welcomed in, given a kit and fit right in from the word go.
He’s also 79 years old!! Amazing.
Well done Mike!

And finally North Tees volleyball team who as ever play brilliantly but also cheer on everyone else no matter the team. We love playing the games we do vs them.

Shout out to Peri for letting us have the comp at queens this morning

And all the money raised go to George and Charlotte from Queen’s who are running the great north run for disability North.

We had Arun pop in the pub and message the page saying he’s working in the area, hasn’t played for ages, wouldn’t mind a run.

Come on over we said
Play in a proper game with mint people.
He did and he loved it!

Thanks as always to our pals Huskies Basketball Club who brought their mixed team and made it the game it was.
