⚜️ Jesmond 2-6 Stockton Athletic ⚜️
After defeat in our first two open games of the season, Athletic were back on track this afternoon beating Jesmond 6 goals to 2.
The first half was a game of set pieces. Two rockets from 40 yards by Chris Oswald who perfectly placed the ball over the keeper into the top left corner on both occasions. 💫
Ozzy also set up Athletics third goal by whipping in another set piece from outside the area, Nathan Stott got on the end of it to force a save from the keeper however Curtis Wilson was there at the back post to bravely nod the ball round the inside of the post. 🫡
Ian Patterson was on hand to stop Jesmond on two separate set piece attempts however eventually Jesmond were able to come back into the game just before the half time whistle.
Athletic started sharp in the second half and applied the pressure through the midfield. Curtis Wilson received the ball from the defence and chipped the ball in behind for Luke Stonehouse to run on to who blazed it high past the keeper into the roof of the net. 🤝
Jack Dicicco got the fifth of the day with another outrageous free kick from 30 yards into the top right hand corner, claiming his second goal of the 24-25 campaign. 🚀
The last game come from new lad Owen Wilson who slotted home after some smart one touch football from the right hand side of the pitch, into Liam Small who laid the ball onto Wilson who tucked the ball bottom right.
