Tuesday was all about putting in the work! 👊

Our 4:30pm Junior BJJ session and 6pm Adult BJJ session were both focused and full of energy. Over the next two weeks we’ll be covering reversals from a variety of positions — a key skill in both Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. Being able to escape bad positions and turn defence into offence is essential for anyone looking to become a complete fighter.

Father and son… both blue belts… and the question had to be asked…

“Come on, who’s the better grappler?”

The family battle continues! 😅

In this round, Sonny settled the debate (for now!) with a slick sweep over the top that had everyone watching smiling. Dad will no doubt be looking for revenge next time, but today the bragging rights belong to the son!

Moments like these are what make training special — learning together, pushing each other and creating memories on the mats.

Watch Cameron time this double leg takedown to perfection! 🛫

As soon as his opponent steps into range, Cameron explodes through the shot, lifting him clean off his feet like an aeroplane taking off before driving through to secure the takedown.

Grappling is such an important part of MMA. The ability to take your opponent down, control where the fight takes place, and dominate positions can be the difference between winning and losing.

Why do MMA fighters spend so much time training Jiu-Jitsu?

Because every fight eventually has the potential to hit the ground. Jiu-Jitsu teaches control, positioning, escapes, submissions, and how to stay calm under pressure when things don’t go your way.

In this video, you’ll see the team drilling techniques and putting them into practice during live sparring rounds. Drilling builds the skills, sparring tests them against resistance, and that’s where real progress happens.

Sensi Interclub – Darlington 🥊🥋

We had 14 team members competing at the Sensi Interclub in Darlington, with some taking part in up to three matches across MMA, K1, and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu.

Interclubs are a fantastic way to gain valuable experience against opponents of a similar age, weight, and skill level, while putting the techniques you’ve been working on in the gym to the test in a safe and competitive environment.

If competing in MMA is something you’ve ever considered, interclubs are often the first step on that journey.

Another brilliant junior wrestling & No Gi session tonight!

We worked on whizzer throws into ankle picks and reverse sit-out escapes, before moving onto hip bump to triangle drills on the ground. The session finished with some intense winner-stays-on sparring rounds where everyone brought great energy and effort.

Loads of hard work, plenty of smiles, and some fantastic rounds from all involved. Great to see everyone improving week after week!

POV: You came for a workout but left with sharper striking and a bruised lead leg.

🔥 High-energy striking session!

We worked on circling to the outside of the opponent’s lead foot to create better angles, firing back-hand attacks, and chopping away at the front leg with lead-leg kicks. Simple concepts, effective results.

Plenty of drilling, pad work, and hard rounds to put it all into practice. Great effort from everyone on the mats tonight! 👊
