Beckfields were finally back in action with a cup tie against Yarm Athletic, played on what can only be described as the worst pitch in all of Sunday league football.

As expected, the game was scrappy from the off, with plenty of naughty challenges flying in. The opening 15–20 minutes were very even, but it was Yarm who broke the deadlock to take a 1–0 lead.

That goal proved to be the wake up call Beckfields needed. The lads began moving the ball far better, and a lovely through ball released debutant Jordan, who was wiped out in the box. Penalty to Beckfields. Paddy stepped up, calmly sending the keeper the wrong way to level the game at 1–1.

However, some sloppy play something that would creep in too often in the first half allowed Yarm back in, and they regained the lead to make it 2–1.

Half-time: 2–1

The second half saw a much improved Beckfields performance. The lads pushed hard and began to dominate, playing some really good football despite the conditions. The pressure told when Jordan picked up the ball, danced past both Yarm centre-backs and delicately chipped the keeper to make it 2–2. A fantastic goal on his debut.

Against the run of play, Yarm grabbed a third from a well-delivered corner, headed home to make it 3–2.

But Beckfields weren’t done. Showing great grit and determination, the lads kept pushing. Some slick play down the right created space for Patto, who whipped in a Trent-esque cross to the back post. Waiting there was Sowers, whose header could genuinely rival Van Persie for the greatest headed goal of all time an absolute bullet into the top bins. 3–3.

Beckfields continued to press and were finally rewarded in the most Sunday league way imaginable. The Yarm full-back decided to launch the ball roughly 50 feet straight up in the air towards his own goal. Once it reached maximum altitude (it may well have had snow on it), it dropped straight into the net, sending the Beckfields faithful into delirium.

A crazy cup tie, but ultimately the better team came out on top. Beckfields march on in the cup, with a real chance of going all the way. UTB. MOTM -

The game kicked off with Mr. Nolan deciding that goalkeepers are optional. A little round the keeper stroll later and boom — 1–0. Casual as you like.

A defence splitting ball from Matt saw Shippy race through on goal. One touch to steady himself, one touch to finish. Clinical.

Liam, clearly hungry for goals and other people’s credit, nicked one right off Mr Nolan’s toes. VAR would’ve been busy, but we’ll allow it.

Next up, Searby pulled off the most technical finish of the day — a belly-touch special. Not sure if it was deliberate, but it went in, and that’s all that counts. Somewhere in the crowd, Diego Maradona was smiling.

From a Mr Nolan corner, Shippy struck again inside the box, reacting fastest to bury it past the keeper. Textbook striker’s instinct.

But if you thought that was good, Shippy wasn’t done. He then lobbed the keeper with the sort of arrogance usually reserved for FIFA players who’ve just discovered the chip button. Undeniably the “goal of the day.”

Alex Hunter went full Messi with a mazy run, only to be denied by the post (worst miss ever). Fortunately, Liam was lurking like a hyena on the Serengeti and tapped in the scraps. Classic poacher’s finish.

Mr Nolan, still traumatised from Liam’s earlier theft, made amends with a selfless square ball for Liam to bag another. Fair play, forgiveness and assists all in one move.

Finally, Hendo decided he fancied a lob of his own, casually floating the ball over the keeper like he was tossing bread to ducks. Poetry in motion.

Full-time whistle: plenty of goals, and a keeper who may never recover.
MOTM: shared between Shippy and Liam both hat trick hero’s

The Beckfields FC 5 – 1 Priestfields UTD

It was a fantastic display of football from The Beckfields FC today, with the boys showing class, composure, and plenty of flair as they put Priestfields UTD to the sword. From the first whistle, Beckfields kept the ball well, carving out chances and dictating the tempo.

Against the run of play, Priestfields took the lead after a mix-up at the back left them with an open goal, which they calmly slotted home. But the setback only fired Beckfields up. The response was immediate – a thunderbolt of a free kick from Paddy, sending the fans into absolute pandemonium.

From then on, Beckfields began to dominate. The wide play was superb, and after some brilliant work by Arthur, he delivered a pinpoint cross straight into the path of Millo, who whipped in a Beckham-esque ball for Alex to finish clinically.

The pressure didn’t stop there. Shippy was clattered by a Priestfields defender in a challenge that could have been a red card on another day, but it only spurred Beckfields on further. Up stepped Paddy once again, this time placing the ball coolly into the bottom corner. A fantastic brace from the young man.

Just before the half-time whistle, the “young bull” Mr Shipp announced himself in style. Picking up the ball on the edge, he unleashed a rocket into the stanchion of the top corner, channelling his inner Luis Suárez. A stunning strike to give Beckfields a commanding lead going into the break.

The second half followed the same pattern – Beckfields dominant, confident, and ruthless. Alex Hunter picked up the ball inside his own half and glided past players with Messi-like dribbling before sliding it through to Scan, who cheekily flicked it up and went for the spectacular. Whether it was an overhead kick into the top corner or a calm walk-in finish (depending on who you ask), the end result was the same – Beckfields had their fifth.

A sensational team performance capped off with goals from every angle. The Beckfields boys showed exactly what they’re made of, and the fans went home knowing they’d just witnessed one of the club’s finest displays.

Full-Time: The Beckfields FC 5 – 1 Priestfields UTD

BECKFIELDS FC 4 - FOX COVERT 2

Unbelievable result seeing Beckfields’s FC get promoted in only our second season. We’ve made the Fox in the first half look relatively poor. Loughran back to his glory days has performed like an old Ruud Van Nistelrooy bagging himself a goal and 2 assists.

Tattersfields again another outstanding performer this evening has opened the scoring to put us 1 to the good early doors.

Fox Covert have equalised through their number 8 using his quick feet and beating Newman with a quick finish.

Pogue’s put us back infront following an across the box pass from Loughran to restore our lead.

Loughran’s made it 3. Stevens booted it from the edge of our box clearing the Fox back line and Loco’s poked it past the keeper to make it 3.

Stevens has wrapped up the scoring in the first half again following an across the box pass from Loughran to see us into half time 3 to the good.

Less said about the second half the better however Fox have scored 1 and the games finished 4-2.

Beckfields FC 5 - Darlington Young Bulls 1

Superb display this morning with 10 lads. We’ve made it look relatively easy against a young darlington young bulls.

Tattersfields scored first rounding the keeper and passing it into an open net.
We’ve dug deep for the rest of the first half going inti half team in the lead.

Hallys decided to put a darlo shirt on at half time and found the top corner for the away side from the edge of the box bringing them back into the game.

Floodgates have opened after that, Tattersfields put us a goal to the good then Ferrells scored direct from a corner.

Tattersfields got the 4th for his hatrick and Burts has finally hit the target to get the 5th.

Beckfields FC 1 - Rimswell 0

What a f****** morning!

We had 10 lads at 10.25am, Robsons had to cancel his home made breakfast and come pull us out the s**t to give us a complete 11.

First half we started slowly, first 20 Rimswell have had plenty more chances than us with long throws constantly coming into our box and we’ve managed to deal with them.

Burts has been sin binned for 10 minutes for calling the ref a doughnut ruining our momentum as we were growing into it.

Second half started and Thompsons put a right spanner in the works getting done for attempted murder and we’re down to 10 men. I didn’t expect us to get anything from the game after that.

We’ve continued to grind away dealing with everything Rimswell offered and we’ve took the lead through Tattersfields as he’s chipped the keeper from the right hand side.

We’ve seen the game out to get the win and extend our lead at the top of the table.
