๐ŸŒ๏ธ 50 BALL STRIKE SESSION

Stop hitting 50 balls with no purpose. Try this instead ๐Ÿ‘‡

1๏ธโƒฃ 10 BALLS โ€” FIND YOUR STRIKE

Start with half swings and build to ยพ swings.

Drill: Place a tee 2โ€“3 inches behind the ball. Your goal is to miss the tee and strike the ball first.

Focus on:
โ†’ Centre contact
โ†’ Ball first
โ†’ Balanced finish

2๏ธโƒฃ 10 BALLS โ€” CONTROL LOW POINT

Drill: Draw a line on the ground and place the ball just in front of it.

Your goal is to strike the ball first and brush the ground in front of the line.

Score each shot:

โœ… Ball first = 1
โŒ Ground first = 0

Try to get 8/10.

3๏ธโƒฃ 10 BALLS โ€” FEET TOGETHER

Hit shots with your feet together.

Start with small swings and gradually build speed.

Focus on:
โ†’ Balance
โ†’ Centre contact
โ†’ Rotating through the shot

If you canโ€™t strike it with your feet together, youโ€™re probably relying on too much movement.

4๏ธโƒฃ 10 BALLS โ€” RANDOM PRACTICE

Now make it more like golf.

Change your club + target every shot.

Before every ball:

Practice swing โ†’ target โ†’ routine โ†’ hit

No hitting the same shot twice.

5๏ธโƒฃ 10 BALLS โ€” THE TEST

Normal setup. Normal swing. Normal routine.

Pick a target and score the strike:

๐ŸŽฏ 2 points = centred strike + good flight
๐ŸŸก 1 point = acceptable strike
โŒ 0 points = poor strike

Your target: 15+/20

50 balls. 5 drills. One goal โ€” better contact.

Donโ€™t measure practice by how many balls you hit.

Measure it by how much better your strike becomes.

๐Ÿ“Œ SAVE THIS for your next range session.

Follow for more structured golf practice plans.

DAY One - One Hour Golf

This series takes on

We look at his swing and how we can make small adjustments along the way to improve swing direction and plan for better golf!

Struggling to get the pressure moving into your lead side? Try this drill. โ›ณ๏ธ

Place a bottle just outside your trail heel at address.

Your goal is to make your swing without the trail foot spinning into the bottle.

If that trail foot spins out early, itโ€™s often a sign that youโ€™re spinning the hips instead of transferring pressure properly into the lead side.

The feeling we want is:

Load โ†’ shift โ†’ rotate

Not:

Load โ†’ spin โ†’ fall back

Keep the trail heel more stable and feel the pressure move into your lead foot through impact.

Itโ€™s a simple drill, but it gives you instant feedback on how youโ€™re using the ground.

Give it a go and let me know if you can keep the bottle standing ๐Ÿ‘‡

100 BALL PRACTICE SESSION โ›ณ๏ธ

Donโ€™t just hit 100 balls. Give every ball a purpose.

Hereโ€™s how Iโ€™d structure your next practice session:

10 balls โ€” Warm up
Start with wedges and short swings. Build up gradually and find your rhythm.

10 balls โ€” Film & assess ๐ŸŽฅ
Hit some 7-irons and film your swing from face-on and down-the-line. Identify one thing you want to improve.

20 balls โ€” Technical work
Use exaggerated movements, slow-motion swings and drills to work on that one change.

20 balls โ€” Skill development
Change clubs, targets and shot shapes. Start making the movement happen without constantly thinking about your swing.

20 balls โ€” Random practice ๐ŸŽฏ
Every shot has a different target and club. Go through your full pre-shot routine before every ball.

10 balls โ€” Pressure test
Give yourself a target or challenge. Make these shots count โ€” no mulligans.

10 balls โ€” Transfer to the course
Finish by playing 10 imaginary holes/shots. Pick a target, choose the club and hit the shot exactly as you would on the course.

The goal isnโ€™t to hit 100 perfect shots.

The goal is to learn โ†’ practise โ†’ test โ†’ transfer.

Save this for your next session and give it a go ๐Ÿ‘Š

Your feet shouldnโ€™t be dead straight at address. โ›ณ๏ธ

A little foot flare can make a huge difference to how freely you move during the swing.

Your feet arenโ€™t designed to stay locked straight while you rotate your body. A small amount of flare gives your hips and pelvis more freedom to turn without feeling restricted.

Think:

๐Ÿ‘ฃ Trail foot: slightly flared out to help you turn in the backswing
๐Ÿ‘ฃ Lead foot: slightly flared out to help you rotate through

You donโ€™t need to exaggerate it โ€” just enough to allow your body to move and rotate naturally.

Try it next time you practise:
Straight feet โ†’ hit a few shots โ†’ add some flare โ†’ compare the movement.

Sometimes a better swing starts with something as simple as how you stand. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Want to hit more from the inside? Try this drill ๐Ÿ‘‡

Place two alignment sticks on the ground โ€” one on the left of the ball and one right of it.

๐ŸŽฏ The challenge: Swing the club under the back stick and over the fromt stick.

This gives you an exaggerated feel for the club travelling more in-to-out through impact.

Start slowly, exaggerate the movement, then gradually add speed and hit shots.

Donโ€™t just practise the swing โ€” give your body a clear task to solve. ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Save this drill and give it a try at your next practice session.

One change. 4 weeks.

This is a series of swings taken over 4 weeks, changing ONE thing.

No constant swing changes.
No chasing positions.
No trying to rebuild everything at once.

Just one clear focus, repeated consistently, and allowed to become part of the movement.

The goal isnโ€™t to have a perfect swing overnight.

Itโ€™s to make one improvement, own it, then move on.

Can you see what changed?

๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ YOUR PRE-SHOT ROUTINE MATTERS

A good golf swing doesnโ€™t start when the club moves.

It starts before you even take the club back.

Your pre-shot routine should help you:
โœ… Pick a clear target
โœ… Commit to the shot
โœ… Control your setup
โœ… Create consistency under pressure
โœ… Stop standing over the ball with too many thoughts

The problem?

Most golfers have a routine that changes every shot โ€” or no routine at all.

Build a routine you can trust. Then repeat it.

Iโ€™ve created a Pre-Shot Routine Builder to help you build your own consistent routine, step-by-step.
