If you struggle with inconsistent strikes, start with your setup. ⛳️

Before you change your swing, check these 4 things:

âś… 60/40 weight on your lead foot
âś… Slight tilt away from the target
âś… Head matching your spine angle
âś… Ball position slightly back

Why?

This setup encourages the club to reach the ball before it reaches the ground.

The result:
🔥 More ball-first contact
🔥 Better compression
🔥 Less fat and thin shots
🔥 More consistent distances

Most golfers try to fix strike issues during the swing, when the real problem started before they even took the club away.

A good strike isn’t just about technique—it’s about putting yourself in a position where good contact becomes easier.

Better setup = better strike.

Give it a try on the range and see how many solid shots you can hit in a row. 👊

Want a reliable draw and crisp ball striking? ⛳️

Your setup can make the swing a lot easier.

âś… 60/40 weight on the lead foot
âś… Slight tilt away from the target
âś… Head matching your spine angle
âś… Ball position slightly back of centre

This setup helps you:
• Strike the ball before the turf
• Control your low point
• Compress the golf ball better
• Deliver the club from the inside
• Start seeing a more consistent draw

Most golfers set up too centred with the ball too far forward, making it difficult to control strike and club path.

A simple setup change can create a completely different impact position.

Try it on the range and pay attention to:
🎯 Cleaner contact
🎯 Lower point control
🎯 More penetrating ball flight
🎯 Consistent draw shape

Save this for your next practice session and let me know how your strike improves. 👊

Want Better Ball Striking?

Most golfers do the opposite of what creates solid contact…

✅ Backswing: Don’t go past the line
Keep your body on the trail-side (right leg for a right-handed golfer).

âś… Downswing: Go past the line
Get your body moving onto the lead side (left leg for a right-handed golfer).

The best ball strikers don’t just make a backswing — they move pressure, weight and the club THROUGH the ball.

If you’re hanging back or trying to help the ball into the air, expect thin, heavy and inconsistent strikes.

Simple checkpoint:
• Backswing = stay behind the line
• Downswing = move past the line

Master this and you’ll compress the ball more consistently.

GRIP CHANGE TO HELP WITH FACE CONTROL

If you interlock your grip too much and have little face control have a look at this video!

Low pitch shots give you more control.
High pitch shots give you more variables.

The lower the ball flies, the less time it spends in the air… meaning less effect from wind, spin variation, and strike inconsistency.

A lot of golfers automatically try to throw the ball high around the greens, but unless you HAVE to go over something, keeping it lower is often the higher percentage play.

Think:
- Lower launch
- More predictable roll
- Better distance control
- Simpler motion

The best short game players can hit it high… but they choose low whenever possible.

Master the low one first. 💥⛳️

Most golfers try to rotate harder…
But better ball striking often comes from learning to move laterally first.

That small shift towards the target in transition helps:

* Move pressure forward
* Shallow the club
* Improve low point control
* Strike ball then turf more consistently

Too much spin with no shift often leads to:
❌ Steep downswing
❌ Early extension
❌ Fat or thin strikes

Feel the pressure move… THEN rotate.

The best ball strikers don’t just turn well — they shift well too.

If you can’t control the strike… nothing else matters.

The gate drill isn’t just for putting — it’s one of the best ways to train face control in your full swing too.

On the greens:
A tight gate gives you instant feedback on face strike. Miss the middle = pace will suffer

In the full swing:
Place the same gate either side of the club head
Start it clean through the gate = centred strike + better control.

Same skill. Different shot.

Most golfers separate putting and full swing…
The best players train the same fundamentals across both.
