The ladies had a great day at the Charlesworth & Chisworth Cricket festival today. Thanks to the hosts for organising such a great day and the sun even shone โ๏ธ ๐ฅต
The ladies got off to a great start and ended up winning every one of their group stage games; including totalling the highest batting score of the day with 280 net total runs off just 6 overs ๐ฑ
Topping the group they were through to the semi finals and were facing Newton 2 (runners up of the other group). It was an incredibly close game which High Lane ended up winning by only 4 runs. It didnโt matter- they were through to the final.
The final was against Charlesworth, who High Lane had previously beaten earlier on in the day. As the temperature rose, so did the nerves. It was an incredibly close game, one fit for a final with 6s being hit from Charlesworth and some great 4s from High Lane, no one could call it ๐ซฃ. It all came down to the last over. With a nail biting finish, High Lane won the tournament by 1 run ๐๐ป
A fantastic day was had by all and an incredible achievement for the ladies. Well done to Becky, Rachel, Emma and Nat, Carol, Ava and Izzy ๐๐๐ฅ๐
