⭐️Let’s get to know the Scales of Training! ⭐️

Whether you’re at the top of your game and out competing or simply like to go out in the countryside for a jolly… the scales of training have a lot to offer!

Make them your best friend, nurture them, hold them tight and never let them go 🙈🤣

The point is, these scales are what allow us to have a harmonious partnership with our large four legged friends!

I have been riding for nearly 30 years, working professionally with horses for over 10years, and the one thing I always turn to…
✨The Scales of Training ✨
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Have you ever had one of those ‘head scratching’ moments? Those ‘I’m not getting anywhere here’ moments? The ‘I’m sitting on this horse for the first time and I don’t know what to do’ moments? The ‘oh sh*t!! That was hairy!’ moments? Or ‘I feel completely uninspired and don’t know what do’ moments?

We’ve all been there trust me! 🙈🤣

If there is any advise I can offer, LEARN the scales of training!! They will be your fail safe when everything is falling apart, your inspiration when you feel there’s little you can do and your motivation to keep to going! 🙌🏻👏🏻

Over the coming weeks I will be taking a deep dive in to each of the scales of training, and showing you exactly how they can be of use to you!

Whoops, I blinked and a couple of weeks have gone by without a post 🤦🏻‍♀️😅 Safe to say that life has been getting on top of me slightly, so its been good to have a little reprieve and now we can get back to it!

Reviews like this always make me do a little happy dance inside 🥰 I’m forever grateful for anyone who takes the time out to write out kind words, it really does make such a difference to a small business like mine. So THANK YOU!! ☺️🫶🏻

I have some limited mobile availability in Cornwall for December, so please get in touch to avoid disappointment!

I will also be offering treatment vouchers 🥳 So if you’re struggling for Xmas present ideas, why not treat a loved one to a much needed massage? 🙌🏻😍

Would you like to give Myofascial Cupping a go? But aren’t sure what it is or what it does?!

Here’s a little bit about what you need to know about Myofascial cupping! 😀👌🏻

I personally absolutely love adding cupping to a treatment! Not only is it so effective at quickly relieving an area of tension and pain, but it also noticeably improves & increases the range of movement after just one session! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

If you would like to give this treatment a go, please PM me so we can discuss further ☺️

💫 Weekly Roundup 💫

What a fab week last week was 🙌🏻

I couldn’t not do a post about how great it was to get go to the BD Senior Home International! Not only was it hosted by this year at the brilliant , making it one of the smoothest journeys I’ve done to a Home International 🤣👌🏻 It was just great to go and support my sister & her awesome mare Dotty, who have only been at Advanced Medium level for a short time, and went and showed us all how it’s done with 4th overall! 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I have always enjoyed going to these types of competitions, not only for the great talent on show, but there’s something about the supportive community that’s always a joy to see!

I took my big girl camera with too, so if you want to see some pretty photos from the weekend, head over to- 📸☺️

Here are just a few examples of common postural problems that may be contributing to your aches & pains!

I like many people suffer with all of these postural issues, mainly due to the nature of my job & lifestyle drawing my posture forwards, but also due to being hyper mobile! We all suffer with muscular imbalances, but we don’t have to accept it, there is a lot we can do to improve our posture day to day! Even making small changes like, checking & correcting your posture in the reflection of a window helps improve our awareness and ultimately our proprioception (brain to limb connection). 🙌🏻😌

As always, if you think you are suffering with any of these issues, please seek advice from a professional ☺️

Do you ever notice yourself feeling stiff? Or maybe hear your joints clicking when you move?

Something I learnt early on in massage that has really stuck with me and something that I constantly use to identify problem areas when treating is… that muscles ARE supposed to be smooth, elastic & supple!!

Now bare with me here, it seems so obvious right?!
But when you think about when you move and how you move, and you REALLY think about it… suddenly it’s easy to pinpoint those areas that might be contributing to pain, or dysfunctional movement, or even to injury!

Our muscles should move freely and function with ease!

When you next wake up in the morning, pay attention to how your body feels, it might be telling you something!

💫 Weekly Roundup 💫

Unfortunately I missed last weeks update due to being well & truly taken by the lurgy 😷 Thankfully not Covid, but annoyingly timed with it being peak season 🙃 So rest it was for me!

Luckily this week was a far cry to the previous & it was great to be back to work to enjoy some fab views & a really wonderful bunch of clients ☺️

Next week is the final week of the summer holidays & I can’t believe how quickly the year is flying by! 😱 Anyone else not ready for Autumn yet?! 😬🙈

💪🏻 Soft Tissue Injuries 💪🏻

We all suffer with aches and pains, but do we know the reasons why?
My aim is always to help educate my clients to understand why their bodies function the way they do and what YOU can do to prevent or subside a soft tissue injury!
After all, knowledge is power 💫
The more we know & understand about our bodies, the more we can do to help ourselves! 🙌🏻

So what is it we can do to prevent a soft tissue injury?

⭐️ Warm up & stretch before exercise.
⭐️Cool down after exercise.
⭐️Train to strengthen & prepare your muscles gradually over time.
⭐️Ensure you’re getting enough rest & time to recover.
⭐️Maintain good levels of hydration before, during & after exercise.
⭐️ Check the equipment you’re using is in adequate condition and not hindering your performance.
⭐️ Ice if an area is hot and inflamed.
⭐️ Make sure you are wearing footwear that is correctly fitted & supportive for your physical needs.
⭐️ Fuel your body with enough nutrients such as, protein, carbohydrates & fats, as well as vitamins & minerals to sustain energy levels. These all contribute to good muscle health.

And most importantly, listen to your body!

If you’re experiencing prolonged or severe pain, please seek professional advice.

✨Weekly Roundup ✨

Last week was full to the brim of beautiful work locations, lovely clients, dodging the heatwave, seeing family, catching up with old friends & enjoying what summer has to bring 🙌🏻😌

I particularly enjoyed seeing a family I treated down here a year ago whilst they were on holiday, to return to them a year on by request 🥰 I was so shocked how much they remembered about me and the kind words they had to say about their previous treatments a year ago 🥹

I really am so lucky to do what I do and be able to help people, even if it’s for a short time ☺️
