Braehead Amateurs took on Banknock in a friendly today with both teams having a bye in Scottish Cup. This was a chance for us to play a bring in a number of new players. It was Banknock though who opened the scoring where a long diagonal ball got in behind our left back area & the wide player picked out the striker to finish well giving stand in Goalkeeper William Addison no chance. We were to equalise when a high ball into the box was expertly finished by Bradley McLauchlin making his debut. We were to finish the first half the stronger team. 2nd half we made a number of changes & also changed shape & we started getting more success & it was Bradley who put us ahead after expertly being picked out by Hamish Mcintyre . We were well on top now but unfortunately the referee decided to give Banknock a very dubious penalty which they scored to put game all level. We then pushed for the winner & we were denied an absolute stone wall of a penalty when the defender came right through the back of our player. The game finished 2 each & we were happy enough with the game & having the opportunity to get game time for all the lads. Thanks to Banknock for the game.

A double header on at Braehead Park tomorrow. First of all the Amateurs take on Banknock AFC in a friendly at 0930. This will be followed by our 2013s who take on Claremont at 1130ko this is also a friendly game. Good luck to both our teams. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork

Braehead Amateurs took on St Rochs today in our first competitive game of the season. We started the game well on top & we were creating numerous chances which we failed to take. Jake Webster was causing lots of problems down our left but it was when he recieved the ball in the centre he was the player who put us one up when he burst through the middle & chipped the Goalkeeper. This was to give us a lift & we must have had close to 20 shots in first half with loads of clear cut chances . We know the score though when on top you must score. We were punished in 35 mins when St Rochs got in behind our left back area although player looked a good few yards offside & they took advantage with their first chance of the game to equalise. This gave the away team a lift & we seemed to switch off & we were punished by losing 2 really bad goals to astonishingly find ourselves 3 1 down at halftime despite dominating game. We were forced into a couple of halftime changes & this didn't help as we lost a very early 4th goal. We pulled one back from the penalty spot when Liam Bone sent the keeper the wrong way & we created & missed a few other very good chances . Again we were punished when St Rochs were to score a 5th. Final score Braehead 2 St Rochs 5. A real tough one to take where we should have been out of sight in first 30 mins. We dust ourselves down & go again next week.

Our 2013s make it 4/4 in their league cup run and are on their way to the semi final 🥳.

A strong first half saw us up 2-0 going into the second half but Garnkirk's pacey subs caused us problems which allowed them back into the game. The boys did well to see out the game and take all 3 points with a big save from Harrison coming at the right time.
