Adventure awaits this October

Join us at Dounans Holiday Club for action packed days, new friends and unforgettable outdoor adventures.

- Monday 19th to Friday 23rd October 2026
- Ages 7 to 14
- £30 per person per day
- Drop off 8:30 to 9:00am
- Pick up 4:30 to 5:30pm

Book one day or multiple days and let us provide the adventure. Activities are weather dependent and will be chosen on the day.

Last week our Centre Managers attended a bespoke 2.5 day First Aid at Work Requalification course hosted by Medicrec Outdoor First Aid Specialist, in North Yorkshire. All the particpants were Rescue Emergency Care https://recfirstaid.net/ first aid trainers so an emphasis of the course was on peer to peer mentoring and the sharing of good practice. It was a very productive few days that have developed our abilities as a first aid provider. Get in touch with us if you are looking for a 16hr Outdoor First Aid or EFAW course in Scotland.

As the summer holidays start to wind down, we have got one final week of Holiday Club still to come!

Our groups have been making the most of the summer with amazing adventures including rock climbing, burn scrambling, raft building, and plenty more exciting activities.

The power of outdoor education.

When a young person leaves after their residential stay, we rarely hear about the full impact that outdoor education has had on them. That is what makes feedback like this so special.

The woods around Dounans Outdoor Centre are coming alive with beautiful bluebells, and it is the perfect time to enjoy the calm that the outdoors can bring.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the return of the bluebells is a gentle reminder to look after ourselves. Time outdoors can lift the spirit and help us reset in simple but powerful ways.

If you can, take a moment outside today. Listen to the birds, enjoy the fresh air, and let the peace of nature remind you that your wellbeing matters.
