Homeward bound today after 2 weeks in Chamonix. Glacial conditions much poorer compared to my Alps visit 3 months ago. So, apart from the Tour glacier peaks, most of our climbs and summits were no higher than 3000m. Superb fun all the same!

Great to be joined in Saas Fee by another OMC member, and a prospective member and friend. I've previously been climbing some of the 4000m peaks over last 3 weeks but conditions on the glaciers are becoming poorer due to the heatwave, so I'm now climbing lower peaks on rock.
Over the last four days we climbed Mittaghorn and Jegihorn. We then re- located to Col du Grande St Bernard area on the Italian border. Yesterday we climbed and traversed Pointe de Drone (peak of the dragon) and some other peaks, a hot long day. Today we rock climbed and scrambled the ridges along Les Becs Noirs. Fabulous climbing and views.

OMC's Mark and Mark climbed Alphubel (4206m) today. An enjoyable and challenging mixture of snow, ice and rock scrambling, with some very exposed moves. It's my 6th 4000m+ summit in the last fortnight. Today's summit was strenuous, but it gave me a big buzz, and it was so worth the effort.
Hope we can organise a club meet somewhere in the Alps next year!

OMC's two Marks traversed the long ridge of Feechopf (3887m) today in the Swiss Alps, westerly and then back easterly.

Been climbing and scrambling in the Swiss Alps for one week (Zermatt area). Heading today to Saas Fee for more climbing. Later in July will meet up with 2 other OMC members to rope up on some more Swiss peaks.
