Having lost our game last week we were back to our best yesterday morning against a strong, physical side.
We dominated the first half, controlling possession and the tempo of the game. Chances were limited, but our opening goal was pure quality β a brilliant through ball, a perfectly timed run, and an unselfish slide pass for a simple finish. An outstanding team goal you could watch all day ππ
Confidence was high, with sharp one-touch football, great wing play and triangles causing all sorts of problems. We went in at the break 1β0 up, firmly in control, having limited the opposition to just one half chance.
The second half became scrappy, with neither side dominating. Our opponents equalised, but our aggressive press paid off, taking the next goal to put us back in front.
Deep into stoppage time, and despite being told there was only a minute left, the opposition grabbed a last-kick equaliser.
The game ended 2-2.
Outstanding effort from the team, mixing quality with physicality when needed. By far our best defensive display of the season ππͺ
