Summer's here and Wimbledon's just round the corner. So why not have a go yourself? Steyning Tennis Club is hosting an open day as part of the Festival on Saturday, May 23rd with free sessions for children and adults. All welcome whatever your experience. No racket? Glorious afternoon for today’s social session and good to see some of our younger members taking part. Nevertheless, experience prevailed with the oldies (aggregate age 130) beating the youngsters (aggregate age 32)!

Congratulations to our winners of our Play Your Way To Wimbledon Event at Steyning. Our girls winner, Freya, and our boys winner, Luke, have qualified for the county finals next month in Worthing, with a chance of progressing to the national finals on the grass courts at Wimbledon. Well done too to our runners up Isabel and Josh who will have to wait and see if they qualify. Thanks to everyone who took part and those who supported the event.

Last weekend, some of our 9& under and 10&under players competed against players from Preston LTC, St Ann’s, Queen’s Park and Southwick. We played some doubles and some singles (first time on clay courts for some of ours!), and had lots of fun. Well done Mila, Cerys, Yvie, Oliver D, Lincoln, George, Oliver P and Kasper.

Spring is in the air! And it's the opening day of our new season on Saturday April 11th from 1pm onwards. We think we've got something for you whether you're a seasoned player, a complete beginner or just curious to find out more. We have players of all standards and all ages from 4 to 90 and we pride ourselves on our welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Come down and have a chat, see what's going on and meet our award-winning Head Coach. Or come down ready to play and have a go (we can provide rackets).
Individual and group coaching for adults and juniors starts in late April. Annual memberships are less than £200 for adults and either £67 or £36 for juniors depending on age. There's 10% off if you join on the day.

A really fun afternoon for our 9 & unders today. We hosted Billingshurst who won 16-11 in matches. Some really close matches, and it’s great to see our players improving so much. After some singles matches, we had time to pair up with the opposition and play a fun doubles game. Well done to our 9 & under players Oliver, Leo, Nathan, Rafferty, Lincoln, Theo, Jesse, Yvie and Rafe.

What a busy day at the club! First up were our 11&U girls who got some match practice amongst themselves after the opposition weren’t able to come - well done to Mia, Mia and Octavia. Next up were the 12&U boys who won 17-4 against Lindfield. I was really really impressed with the standard of play, as well as the attitude and team support - well done to Charlie, Tommy, Marty, Jacob, Ben, Jesse and Petros. This was followed by our 7&U team of Jonah, Hugo, Remi and Valdo (2019 & 2020 birth years!) who played Billingshurst, winning 16-8. And finally our newly formed junior committee of 15-18 year olds met to discuss ideas for the club from a junior perspective - thanks to Louisa, Anya, Tilda, Tilly, Kadie, Sammy and Tao for some great discussions. Thanks to Sammy & Tao (and of course our lovely parents) too for umpiring the matches.
