Steyning Rugby - Club Update - 28th Feb. 2021

Firstly a quick line to apologise for the lack of communication in the past few weeks, I am sure like most we have been keeping our heads down and in truth struggling a little with the grind of lock down! Thankfully with the announcement of HM Govt. “road map” out of the current lock down coupled with the fantastic effort again from the NHS and the vaccine programme we can start to plan our own return to all things rugby…

We are looking at the following dates as points to relaunch the 3 main parts of our wonderful community rugby club:

MINIS - Easter Weekend, TBC

O2 TOUCH - Monday 29th March

SENIORS - Thursday 1st April

We will know much more w/c 8th March and will post confirmed dates and details that week on various media platforms…

We are hoping to see our club flourish again and really need your help and support to achieve this. See you all very soon.

On behalf of all here at Steyning Rugby I wish you the very best of health for the year ahead… Like many the festive period was quieter than in years before, for some a more enjoyable and slower pace but for others more testing. We as a club are proud to be here in support of all.

As you are no doubt aware, Sussex is currently in Tier 4 for the COVID response from our Govt. As such we have taken all of our rugby back to Road Map A, this includes the MINIS section as well as O2 Touch and Seniors. There was an opportunity for us to operate Under 18s rugby at this time, however the club felt it better for all that we didn’t…. in truth the club cannot see any rewards for taking such risks.
The Club will be constantly monitoring guidelines and the local health advice whilst adapting our operations in our community.

Again, have a very happy and healthy new year. Do shout if we can help in any way.

Great session back after another lockdown! Thanks all who came some very enjoyable games look forward to next week

We have today seen an update from ENGLAND RUGBY stating that we can now return to various forms of rugby training and in the coming months adapted matches.
We will be sending out separate messages in the next couple of days to update the Men's seniors, MINIS sections and O2 Touch players about each area... We plan to be back with Mens training Thursday 3rd, Minis will be back Sunday 6th and O2 Touch Monday 7th, all rolling up to the Christmas break.

We will as ever be running our track and trace systems via Pitchero and our Website. Please think of others.
