💧 Christmas Kickabout 💧

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all!

Fear not, despite our recent radio silence the annual Liquid Town Christmas Kickabout was never in doubt - the boys never turn down the chance to give the net a good stuffing. So to round off all the festivities of 2018 here we have a selection of the very best mistletoe punts, eggnoggins and slade tackles from the big day.

💧 GOAL OF THE SEASON 💧

This is it. The culmination of tens of hours of kickabouts, hundreds of goals and a countless number of water bottles has finally arrived - The 2017/18 Liquid Town Goal of The Season Competition.

If this doesn’t get you in the mood for the World Cup, nothing will. After much deliberation we’ve whittled it down to eight of the very best strikes you’re ever likely to see.

Please vote for your favourite by commenting the letter of the goal below.
The votes will be counted and whoever has etched their name in the annuls of football history will be announced next week.

💧 International Waters 💧

The club’s first foray in to Ecuadorean Sunday league football wasn’t everything it promised to be. Liquid Town’s self-proclaimed most hydrated player Connor Muësen enjoyed a tidy 45 minute cameo, but couldn’t do anything to slow the tide as Pucara cruised to a 3-1 victory over local rivals Santa Rosa.

Without much in the way of highlights, here’s Connor chasing the ball like a headless chicken whilst a rogue pig wanders its way across the pitch.

We can now finally confirm that what you've all been waiting for is just around the corner... the big one, the Liquid Town GOAL OF THE SEASON competition! Watch this space.

💧 The HFL “Feeling It Today” mixtape 💧

The goalkeeper is the most overlooked and under appreciated participant in a kickabout, but let it be known that their enthusiasm (or lack of) sets the tone for the whole session.

For years now former Nottingham Trent and current Liquid Town no. 1 Harrison Fernandez Lewis has been figuratively raising the bar by seemingly lowering it. If it wasn’t for his unshakable - yet ultimately misguided - belief that he is in fact a ball playing midfielder he could have made it all the way to the very top... Here are some of his best moments.

💧H2O HIGHLIGHTS 💧

We’ve got a potential goal of the season contender here for you lucky fans - club legend Kit Ellam showing complete disregard for both the laws of physics and the safety of the crossbar.

Also known as ‘Mr Liquid Town’ and often referred to as the “beating heart of the club” in the local press, Kit has never missed a kickabout in the club’s long and decorated history. Cut him and he bleeds blue.

💧 GOAL OF THE DAY 💧

Born into a long line of footballing legends, Kaimen Hodgy Hercules cemented his own place in football folklore by boasting the proud achievement of having never lost a 50/50 in his career.

Sadly forced into an early retirement from 11-a-side due to his lungs packing it in at the tender age of just 18, he can now be found regularly scoring wonder goals in the sky blue of Liquid Town - his inhaler in one hand, and an ice-cold Powerade in the other.

New Year, same old Liquid Town.

Over recent years Liquid Town’s annual Christmas Eve kickabout has become as much a part of the holiday season as mince pies and sustained alcohol abuse.

Tyrone Takirwa once again provided the standout moment of the day with this quite ridiculous effort. A stunning strike which left the stanchion in an absolute state.
