🥋🏆 A huge well done to all of our students who competed at the JKAE Nationals this weekend!
We are incredibly proud of every one of you for representing Stevenage Karate Club with such determination, spirit, and sportsmanship.

The standard of competition was exceptionally high, with talented karateka from across the country showcasing their skills.

Special congratulations go to Soren and Luca on their fantastic performances. Soren brought home an impressive medal haul, winning 🥇 Gold in Kata, 🥈 Silver in Kumite, and Luca🥉 Bronze in Kumite. An outstanding achievement!

A big thank you to Sensei Adam for his continued coaching support throughout the event, and to all of our parents and families for their encouragement and support both before and during the competition.

We would also like to recognise Sensei Steve R and Sensei Steve D, who spent the day refereeing on Tatami 1 and Tatami 3, helping to ensure the competition ran smoothly and to the highest standards.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to your training continue to make the club proud.

🥋 Good Luck to Our Students! 🥋

Tomorrow, our students will be travelling to Crawley K2 to compete in the JKAE National Championship.

Everyone at Stevenage Karate Club would like to wish all of our competitors the very best of luck. You have all trained hard and shown great dedication to reach this stage.

Go out there, give it your best, perform with confidence, and most importantly, enjoy the experience and have a fantastic day.

🥋 Exciting News from Stevenage Karate Club! 🥋

After months of deliberation and anticipation, we’re delighted to finally take delivery of our brand-new club merchandise!

We’re incredibly pleased with the quality and look of our new Training Tops, Tracksuit Tops, and Polo Shirts – all proudly featuring our club colours. 💙🤍

A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping us get to this stage. We can’t wait to see our members wearing the new kit both in and out of the dojo.

🥋 Another fantastic week at Stevenage Karate Club! 🥋

This week, our students worked on developing their kicking technique, focusing on bringing the knee up high before extending the kick over the pole. They then targeted their foot through the hoop, making sure to pull their toes back correctly for a strong and controlled technique.

To finish the session, everyone enjoyed a fun core-strengthening exercise, lying flat and passing a hoop to each other. A great way to build core stability while working together as a team!

Well done to all our students for their hard work, focus, and enthusiasm. Keep up the excellent effort! 👏💪

In this clip from Sensei Aaron’s lesson, our students are working on provoking an attack, avoiding it, and then applying an effective counter. 🥋

This was a fantastic exercise that kept everyone fully engaged while developing timing, distancing, awareness, and confidence. The students had great fun testing their reactions and learning how to stay calm under pressure while applying their karate skills.

Well done to everyone who took part and gave 100% effort! 👏

A huge thank you to Sensei Aaron Storey from Stratford Karate Club for delivering two fantastic lessons for our students this week! 👊🥋

The sessions focused on kumite and included some brilliant drills that our students really enjoyed and learned so much from.

We’ve received so much positive feedback already, and seeing the smiles on our students’ faces throughout the lessons was incredibly encouraging.

Thank you again, Sensei Aaron, for sharing your knowledge, energy, and passion with our club — we hope to welcome you back again soon! 🙏

Great focus and determination in class this week at Stevenage Karate Club! 👊⚽

Students worked on an excellent eye-hand coordination exercise — dropping the ball and catching or punching with the opposite hand. Some students really excelled at this challenge, showing fantastic reactions and control, while others are learning the value of perseverance and practice.

Karate is not just about technique; it’s about developing coordination, concentration, resilience, and confidence. Every student progresses at their own pace, and it’s great to see everyone pushing themselves and improving each lesson.
