Ahh it really was a very special weekend of Mandala Methodology training 🤍

Huge thanks to Dulce, Nicholas & Carlos for sharing your knowledge, energy and creativity so generously.

And to my lovely yoga pals for learning, moving and laughing alongside me 🧡

Feeling very inspired and very excited to keep exploring all of this in my own practice, classes & retreats ✨

You don’t need a retreat to feel better.

Most of the time, it’s smaller things that help like a walk without headphones, reading a novel instead of scrolling, identifying a bird sound (if that’s your thing), going to bed when you’re tired.

And what all those have in common is that they create a bit of space.

Not to escape life (and pretend everything’s fine when the world clearly isn’t), just enough room to come back to yourself for a bit.

And that doesn’t have to take a whole weekend.

Sometimes it’s just:
- breathing properly for the first time in ages
- moving your body without rushing
- eating something delicious that you don’t cook
- lying down in the middle of the day

For some people, that looks like a weekend away. For others, that’s not realistic.

So this is a doable, one-day version:

The Betty Yoga Hut turns 3 🧡🎂✨

It started as a tiny idea and somehow turned into this little space where people come to move, breathe, and have a bit of time to themselves.

Over the years it’s held all sorts: small group classes, 1:1s, 2:1s, GYC, and the Sunday Soothe sessions 🙏🏼 I’m really grateful to everyone who’s come through the door and been part of it.

To celebrate, I’ll be sprinkling a few little surprises into sessions for the rest of the month ✨

And, if you’re in my (sporadic) newsletter… keep an eye out for a freebie 👀 (drop me a note if you’d like adding 💌)

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, consider this your nudge - you’d be so very welcome, exactly as you are 🧡

I bloody love that I get to run these retreats… 😊 I’m also a bit of a weirdo in that I actually scribble down little throwaway comments guests make along the way; the “I didn’t realise how much I needed this” or, “Can we just… live here now?” honestly, they mean everything and it’s what keeps me doing this.

Our Nourish & Connect Lakes retreat this autumn is fully booked (with a waitlist, which still feels mad), but there are 5 spaces still available on our Nourish & Connect Retreat in Portugal, 10th–14th March 2027.

So, if you fancy coming to see what all the fuss is about, feeling some of these feels for yourself (and giving me more quotes to secretly write down 😘), do get in touch 💌

Still thinking about how mad it is that January is meant to be this big, shiny fresh start…
when it’s very clearly still winter.

Everything else in nature is slowing down, resting, saving its energy, and yet this is the month we’re told to sort our lives out and suddenly feel motivated. No wonder it can feel a bit off.

For what it’s worth, I’ve got zero resolutions this January and I’m certainly not manifesting anything.
If anything, I’d just like to get to February feeling whole and fairly peaceful. That feels like enough.

If you’re moving more slowly, feeling quieter, or not especially driven right now, nothing’s gone wrong. This season just asks something different of us.

It’s January.
Honestly, you’re doing fine.

Yoga, for me, is a reminder that we all have our own pace. That we can turn the noise down a bit and listen to what our bodies are saying, breath by breath, movement by movement.

And if you fancy moving gently together, I’m back on the mat from next week 🤍

It’s madness really…

There’s this sense of the end of the year rushing towards us like an imaginary finish line. With the pressure to get everything done and keep everyone happy (whilst also trying to not overconsume… 🥴).

Nature on the other hand is offering us an entirely different rhythm. This season’s not asking us to hurry up and get everything done, it’s inviting us to soften a little, rest more, and bank some energy.

But we often move too fast to even notice this quiet invitation.

We’ve forgotten that with real rest and stillness comes the presence of awareness ✨

Last night’s “Winter Soothe” was a chance to practice softness, slowness and real rest.

Thanks so much to all the lovely people who came 🙏🏼

Two more opportunities to practice yoga together next week:

✨Soothing Flow - Wednesday 6:30pm
✨Energising Flow - Thursday 9:30am

✨If you know me, you know how much I love food…✨
(especially food someone else has lovingly made 😋).

And on retreat, food becomes even more special.

It brings us together, it helps us slow down, and adds that gentle sense of being held.

Our Nourish & Connect Retreats are full of movement, rest, fresh air, quiet moments, and deep exhales, and food is what quietly supports us through all of it. The right meals can ground us, steady our energy, lift our mood, and help us feel cared for in that “I’m being looked after” way we don’t often give ourselves in daily life.

Which is why I’m so excited to introduce you to Anna, who’ll be cooking for us on both our Spring and Autumn retreats in The Lakes next year. She’s warm, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about creating seasonal, nourishing food that feels as good as it tastes.

A little about Anna…

She runs Food with View, a vegetarian and plant-based catering business rooted in seasonal produce and wholesome, beautifully made food. Her cooking has that gorgeous “made with love” quality, comforting, balanced, and deeply satisfying without feeling heavy.

Anna’s food journey began back in 2016 with a pop-up she ran with her sister, travelling to festivals and markets before opening a stall at Leeds Kirkgate Market. She no longer trades there, but her love of connecting people through food has only grown. These days she works with local growers, writes about women in the Leeds food scene, and creates thoughtful, seasonal menus through her catering work.

Our Spring Retreat is now full (with a waitlist)…
But we have a few spaces left on our Autumn Nourish & Connect Retreat in The Lakes [11–14 September 2025]
✨ One spot in a shared twin room
✨ Or two spaces together if you’d like to come with a friend

If you fancy a long weekend of rest, yoga, connection, mountain air, and really beautiful food, just messageme and I’ll send you the details 🧡

I’ve been a little quiet on here - partly because I’ve been trying (with mixed success 😬) to reduce my time online… and partly because I’ve been deep in the doing - planning, prepping, practising, and getting very excited about our NOURISH & CONNECT RETREAT in Portugal 🌴🌊 ✨

I’ve also been behind the scenes organising one of the most important elements of my Spring & Autumn retreats next year… the food 🥣 🍂 - nourishing, seasonal, cooked-with-love kind of food that makes your whole body sigh with happiness. It’s all coming together and I can’t wait to share more 🙏🏼

Anyway, just a l’il update, and to say… this is the last week of classes before I pause for half term and then head off to Retreat!

If you’d like to join me before I disappear ☀️ 🍊 I’ll be at one of my favourite places:

🧡
✨ Wednesday 6:30pm - soft, soothing Hatha Flow
✨ Thursday 9:30am - energising, heart-opening Flow

studio has the loveliest community - warm, welcoming, no performance, no pressure, just lovely people coming together to breathe, move, and reconnect. And the post-yoga coffee & cake is of course the best savasana extension there is! If you’ve been meaning to come, now’s a beautiful week to drop in 🍂

Would love to see you on the mat before I take flight ✈️ 🧡

Posted • Grounded: A Friday Soothe - Join Liz on Friday 16th October, 6pm - 7:30pm

A once-a-month, 90-minute exhale at the end of your week!

These sessions are a gentle invitation to slow down, soften the edges, and settle back into yourself. With grounding movement, calming breathwork, and a long, dreamy savasana, we’ll coax your nervous system out of stress mode and into deep rest.

A nourishing reset and the perfect way to ease into your weekend, feeling a little more spacious, a little more soothed, and a lot more human.

Do something for you.

You will be welcomed with a warm smile, a cosy light-filled studio draped in candlelight, lots of props and cost blankets and herbal tea.

Book now on the Momence app or at Loveyogaleeds.com or comment the word GROUND and we will DM you the direct booking link.
