Bramcote Cricket Club are extremely sad to report the passing of our Honorary Chair John ‘Nobby’ Green. Affectionately known by all at the Club as Nobby, John was a true cricketing man and an absolute gentleman who everyone enjoyed spending time with. Whilst appearances at the ground became more infrequent in recent years, Nobby was always keen to know how the Club’s many sides were getting on. His sons, Geoff and Dave, are massive names in the Club’s recent history during the successful 80s and 90s, and grandson Sam has recently become our Second XI captain. We have a great deal to be thankful to Nobby for.

Everyone at the Club sends its deepest condolences to the Green Family for its sad loss.

There’s a change in the captaincy for both our First and Second XI’s this season with details in the graphic below. The club would like to place on record its thanks to the outgoing First XI captain Pete Hollingsworth for his dedication and hard work since taking on the role several years ago. Also stepping down is the First XI vice-captain Adam Reddish, but both Pete and Adam will still be available to the new captains for selection.

The very best of luck to those assuming captaincy and vice-captaincy roles at Bramcote CC for the 2026 season! Everyone at the club is firmly behind you 🟢🟡

Just over a week to go until our Club Fun Day at Bramcote Hills Park 🙂 Come and join us a week on Sunday (July 6th) for a day filled with a variety of activities at our ground! As well as all the usual events, we’re delighted to host a triangular set of games between our Women’s team, Duffield and Hilton in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League 🏏 So much will be happening throughout the day, you won’t want to miss it 👍
