Stapleford Ladies 3–2 Beeston Ladies

Stapleford Ladies came away with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Beeston Ladies this afternoon in a hard-fought encounter. Beeston struck first, taking the lead early on, but Stapleford responded just before the break when Millie found the net to level the score.

The second half saw Sophie put Stapleford ahead quickly, only for Beeston to equalise, setting up a tense finale. With the game finely balanced, Ruby stepped up to score the decisive goal, securing all three points for Stapleford.

Special thanks to Elle and Kim for stepping in as stand-in goalkeepers, demonstrating great flexibility and team spirit. Player of the Match went to Sharna for a solid performance throughout the game.

This Sunday (22nd) Stapleford Ladies FC take on Beeston FC at Hickings Lane, with a 2pm kick-off in what promises to be another competitive local derby.

The last time the two sides met, Stapleford came away 3–1 winners, but the scoreline didn’t tell the full story. It was a tight game for long periods, with both teams battling hard and creating chances, before Stapleford managed to pull away.

Beeston will be looking for a response this time around, while Stapleford will be hoping home advantage can help them complete the double.

Stapleford Ladies arrived knowing that matches against Pelican can often prove competitive, but from the opening whistle it quickly became clear that this would be a very one-sided affair.
The game began in perfect fashion for Stapleford when Millie opened the scoring early on, calmly finishing to give the home side the lead. That early breakthrough set the tone for the afternoon. Ruby soon doubled the advantage with a confident strike, before Belle added another to make it three and firmly establish Stapleford’s control.
To Pelican’s credit, they continued to battle throughout the match despite having no substitutes available. However, their efforts did little to slow the relentless pressure from Stapleford. Wave after wave of attacks followed, with the Pelican goalkeeper facing a constant barrage of shots and doing her best to keep the scoreline respectable.
Stapleford, meanwhile, showed no signs of easing off. The home side moved the ball well, created chances at will and finished clinically, producing a series of impressive goals as the match progressed.
By the final whistle the scoreline had reached 12–0, a result that reflected Stapleford’s dominance and the quality shown throughout the team. While Pelican deserve recognition for their determination in difficult circumstances, this was very much Stapleford’s day, with the home side delivering an outstanding attacking performance.
